there has been stories I have heard here and there about people dating interracially that put people through the fire. Ie job experience where you sufferred alienation or something close or going to a store and hearing little comments .

have anyone experience such things and if so what did you do and how did it make you and your love one feel ?

I was subjected to lot of harsh, false and malicious judgments by friends as well as family when I started dating black men. I would be constantly fighting with my friends (both girls and guys) over my choice to be with BM and I was so deeply offended by their racist views that I "wanted big, black cock" and that I'm a "N**** luvin slut" That was terribly upsetting for me and soooooo untrue and wrong!! I'm doing alright now and found new friends who understand and wholeheartedly accept my choice to date black men.

We've gotten a lot of shit over the years, some of it I've already talked about on here so I won't get too deep. But even more than violent interludes and lost friends, I'm still most annoyed by the people who would follow us around everywhere in the neighborhood we went chanting the lyrics to the song "Jungle Fever" for months. A tiny part of me really still wants to find those women now, go to their houses, and pee on their clothes.

I kind of like it when you behave badly. ;)

LMAO! You are so much nicer than I am. My first instinct would not have been to pee on their clothes.

I've mentioned this before in an old thread, but I can relate to that. Back in the early 90s, I was at the predominantly Black mall (at the time it was. FG and LA know about the Fox Hills Mall) with my boyfriend (we weren't holding hands) and this guys says, "Sell out". My boyfriend pulled him aside and said something. Who knows what he really said, although he told me he asked dude if he believed in God etc. Then another time, I was at another mall (The Beverly Center) with a guy I was seeing (mixed Black man) and his boy (dark skinned BM), both were very attractive and these young Black girls, yell out the same shit, "Sell out". They of course ran off after they said it. Then lastly, I was privy to this whole night, but this dude I used to date and I were at the movies. He started acting weird. He said he had to go make a call and call his boy up for back up cause someone yelled out, "Jungle Fever" and he wanted to be prepared just in case something went down. I was with him the whole time and with me being extremely observant, none of this took place. He was by me the whole time until he went to make a call. For all I know, he called some other chick. We sat down in the middle of the theater with Black folks in front, back and on the side of us and no one said shit. Then after the movie was over, you'd never know anything (make believe or not) happened. That dude used to be very dramatic, so it was hard to believe him, especially since I was there.

That is the mall I frequented when I lived in Playa Del Rey as it was just a hop on 90 over 405.
I have been there w my X and nobody said anything or gave is looks - or were were ignorant about it.... When we were there in September, it was under some sort of construction partly and really wasnt that crowded however.

I was acctually looking for condos to buy in that area because I really like that area.

    Yep, that's it!

    This was in 90-'91.

Well, back in the day, we used to call it the "Meat Market". If you wanted to meet guys (or girls), it was easy - cause that was the hangout spot.

I haven't been there since it's been renovated, but it's open now.

Yeah, Playa Vista and parts of Westchester are nice. When you go past Centinela.

    ReallY? wow!:)
I guess it has changed but it was so desolated for a while during the renovations. But VERY convenient for Playa Del Rey. The other one close enough that I frequented is on Hawthorne in Redondo and that is a meat market too:)

Yeah, it surely was dead. Every time I've passed by there, I see cars pulling in. Don't know if business picked up or not.

I  going to South Bay Galleria and Del Amo Mall. :)

That is where I go as I made friends with the Clarins counter manager so she hooks me up when they have specials:)
I could take Imperial Hwy or Artesia all the way in, it is a straight shot (and redlights!)

We should have coffee there one day:)
