You know, I get kinda sick of seeing this crap. By this crap, I mean people at my school wasting their (or their parents') money on an education they're not even going to use.

Every week it goes like this: a handful of people have their work done. Of that handful, maybe half actually worked hard and came up with a decent project. The other half crammed at the last minute and came up with a mixture between stellar last minute work and work with that "just thrown together this morning" look. Messy, disorganized, and unprofessional.

Granted, I've been part of the latter group at times, but I try very hard to at least only stretch the deadline when it's actually possible, as in the case with some of these "soft" deadlines where the real aim is to turn in a mostly finished project and redo it for a resubmit after midterms.

Excepting in situations where I know I can get away with it, I take my deadlines very seriously. While I may have writing my disc this morning at 4:30am my project was finished and turned into the "client" (aka the professor) at deadline which was 1pm.

Yet the majority of people I see in my classes are seriously nothing but fuck ups wasting a good 100k on a degree they are NOT going to be able to use. How do I know this? Because a degree doesn't mean shit in the industry. You work is what proves your merit, not a piece of paper. Technically you don't have to have a degree to do anything I want to do...it just helps, and specialized training from experienced people in the industry is worth the expensive piece of paper.

It just annoys the hell out of me. These kids are mostly just spoiled brats who probably couldn't even get into a "real" school...so instead they decided to go to art school. Give me a break *rme*.

On the upside...less competition after graduation. Even if they manage to get their acts together and pull together a semi impressive demo reel...I don't think any employer is going to be willing to deal with such shoddy planning. Deadlines are the end all. If you can't work with one, you're fired. Simple as that.

...yeah, I felt like ranting. lol I just hate to see so many people wasting a shit load of money. I'd rather they just give it to someone who could actually use it, instead of the money grubbing corporation I call a school. lol

Agh...my Aussie day consisted of doing a double shift at work, sweating my tits off and trying to stop drunk teenagers and twenty-somthings from...1. destroying the arcade our shop is in 2. beating up our other customers 3. Smashing beer bottles, for fun, on the pavement outside 4. urinating and defacating around the surrounding premises.
Australia day sucks arse. It was a sad night for all in my area.

got a bill today with £95.70 for overseas calls.
idiot didnt use the calling card to dial from and has no means to pay the resuting bill so ive got to find the money to pay for it after just getting a gas bill for £324.
