    Trivial: The last negus of Ethiopia, H.I.M Haile Selasie (aka Ras Teferi, hence the Ras Tefarians) is said to be a direct descendant of the biblical King Solomon.

    Yes, true indeed. The kid though was just trying to spell a word that sounded like the word he's heard several times before albeit not in the nicest of manners. Imagine if he didn't have the slightest of clues and spelled it NIGGAS? I was very happy for the young man that he pulled it out though.

    You would think spelling bee admins would omit that word from contention due to the negative connotation associated with such a word, imagine the uproar when a child spells it NIGGAS...
