That's not always the case. Some women go back to their original shape, some women get bigger, and some get smaller. It depends on the woman, the age she has her children and how easily she can/wants to lose the weight afterwards.

I don't see them as fat, but maybe a little chunky- I prefer women to look lean as to me it looks more elegant (not the size 0 gang though) I don't think fat should be considered as "womanly" and "healthy" because it isn't, it's just as unhealthy as being too thin.

    This study would suggest otherwise...

    -----------------
For the millions Americans who are heavy or obese, the risk of serious health problems is well established. So too is the fact that society often brands over-weight individuals as lazy, undisciplined and unhappy.

A pattern was discovered for black men. Although the heavier men or women appeared, the more negatively they were viewed by black men, images of thin black men were not rated much differently than black men with medium builds. The results showed that black men perceived black women similarly in terms in their size. They stigmatized large black women, but not thin or medium women, and overall, they did not differentiate between thin or medium sizes.
"This study debunks the myth that black men prefer heavier women," Hebl says.
"Instead, we found black men view both thin and medium size women similarly and more desirably than heavy women, while white men clearly view thin women most favorably and medium and large women less so."
Generally, white men rated white women who appeared medium or heavy more negatively in terms of their attractiveness, how happy and successful they were in their relationships, and the likelihood they held a professional job. They did not stigmatize them based on their size when rating their intelligence or how well they performed their job.
Black men viewed heavy black women as less attractive and less popular than thin or medium-weight women, but only slightly less happy and successful.
Hebl believes future research that looks into different standards of beauty among subcultures can provide valuable insights into why certain individuals accept greater size and are generally less concerned with weight and body image than others.
An applied social psychologist, Hebl has conducted extensive research into the social psychology of stigma, particularly regarding obesity. Her work is widely published in several scholarly journals, including Personality and Social Psychological Review and the Journal of Applied Social Psychology.
A member of Rice's psychology faculty since 1998, Hebl received her undergraduate degree in psychology from Smith College, her master's from Texas A & M University and her Ph.D. degree from Dartmouth College.

Are you serious? Care to share where you got this generalisation from? See, most white guys I know prefer women like Beyonce, Kim K, Shakira and Holly Willoughby etc.
They don't like skinny model types. And the reason why? It comes down to the stupidest reasons. 'They've got small tits, I hate that.'

And Kate Moss as an example... most guys I've met (regardless of race) think that she's pretty ugly. The reasons they give me are that she has no boobs, no hips, and tiny little eyes.

You know what, it might be different in America but in England, I find that you're MUCH less likely to see a black man with a 'heavy' woman.

I'd agree with Bex, I'd say they were on the chubby side. Not thick tho.

Interesting. Now let's see the study where black men judged heavy white women and let's see if there's any difference.

    My two cents

To me all those women were dateable. All very sexy not fat at all. How physically conditioned determines whether you're thick or fat to me. Fat people aren't active.

Maybe it is an American thing, being "heavy" certainly isn't deemed desirable here.. As much as guys will say they prefer a woman with "a bit of meat", they are the ones who are looking a girls like Cheryl Cole and Megan Fox etc.

I really think that most men wouldn't prefer it. I think a lot of men in this country date fat women because they believe that's their best chance of success in terms of sex/relationships. I can't concieve how a man can look at beautiful body and say no I'd rather have the fat one. Beauty is symetrical and fat is laziness and giving up personified.

The difference is overwhelming in the States. As I look at all the girls I’ve dated in America, they fall within 8.5 – 9 stones. That is 120 – 130 pounds for my American comrades.

From my observations, it seems the majority of African American males fancy girls no smaller than 10.5 stones (roughly 150 pounds). Possibly some African American males could share their thoughts on the topic at hand.

    Cheers!
