I've been on this site for the last couple of days and I have to say I love being part of a forum with like minded intelligent people. Thank you for having me.
But the more threads I read about IR relationships I'm beginning to wonder why we prefer someone of another race. I know it shouldn't be a big deal since no one ever questions why someone likes blue eyes opposed to brown or blondes over brunettes because love is love right? It's just that I seriously have no interest nor can I ever see myself with a woman who isn't white. I find other women attractive but I am no where near as attracted to anyone else the way I am to white women? Anyone else feel this in regards to who they are into and does that make us racist?

    Just my thoughts

I am just far more attracted to black men, than white. I don't find white men completely unattractive though. I can name a few white celebs I like to drool over. Hehehehe!
I think what it comes down to is certain features, other than skin colour. Like size of lips, colour of eyes (I love big brown eyes), hair, nose, height, even texture of skin etc... All those things combined (and maybe a sexy accent if we're lucky ;)) form what we find attractive.
Really, it just comes down to chemistry I guess.

White women tend to make my heart beat faster. You know, that feeling when your adrenaline rushes tenfold.

9 times out of 10 when that happens it's typically a white girl or a latino girl.

    The 'excitement' factor.

Not to mention, as far as friends go, most of my friends tend to be either latino or white. Mainly white.

I in no way try to distance myself from other cultures. I'm cool with everybody.

That's just been the story of my life for the most part.

What he said. That line he spoke, when it comes to white women who come near me, it makes my heart beating so faster, but VERY nervous, being so shy when I'm around them.

I nearly see it the same way. WM are attractive and easy to understand for me, they are colleagues and best friends. But if we come to sexuality ...BM are the winners. The feeling they are able to give me is so different that I some times think that the nature wants to tell me to complete myself , that I am just half without a BM.

AWWWW THESE GUYS ARE SO CUTE!!! lol :p

I can't imagine myself with a white guy. All I wanna do is have my chocolate guy who makes me melt in his arms and kisses me with his soft soft lips. a guy that makes the sun rise on his face when he smiles (that can be usefull when it's dark too, lol). I might like guys of every kind, but black guys are just the best. The color of the skin, the features. Honestly, I think that's bad. It keeps me limited and if I go on like this I will be single for all my life. I just can't find a white guy that I like here. They are all "so-so".
Black guys are just the best, ok? Period. lol

Thats part of the reason i wanna travel to the states ;) Australia mostly just has africans when it comes to black people, no african americans really unless they come to play b-ball. There is nothing wrong at all with africans, i have loved and dated them in the past but i feel like they are not westernized enough for me in some ways. I dated this american sailor when they where here and i swear those 2 weeks where the best sex and company i have ever experienced, we had so much in common and so much to talk about and so much chemistry. It was funny because aussie and american culture is pretty simular and for once i didn't have to explain something he just knew, african guys i would have to explain. We wanted to be together but unfortunatley he is based in Japan and we both had to move on, but he did inspire and made me realise what im looking for in a guy is problably waiting for me in the states. I can't picture myself with anything else and i don't want to either.

You'll definitely find what you're looking for out here. Very rich culture here. If you end up in NY and need a guide let me know. I never get tired of the city.

But sometimes it is interesting to meet spmeone who is completely different - not just colour, but also culturally. Thats why I must say that I like african men.

Yes that is great and i have done that many times in the past but i just found it refreshing in a way to date someone im really attracted to and also have so much in common with culturally aswell. I started on the other end, my ex was zambian and one of the toughest things for me was that he was not overtly affectionate or romantic, it just wasn't the way he was raised or in his culture. It wasn't just him either, i have dated others and it was a similar story, thats my experience anyways.

    I totally agree. :D

I know what you mean. My ex was like that, but my current guy is the total opposite. :smt038 Both are Kenyan, but different tribes (not sure if that makes a difference). My man is so lovey dovey, it's fantastic.
But it is true, African men (as a general rule) don't show much affection. Not like men in western cultures anyway (well, most men in western cultures LOL).

    stereotypical?

interesting comments so far ....stereotypical most, maybe ...lol ...yet there is a curiosity to explore in the preferences, I think in some of us ....probably because we want our lives to be richer ....some say variety is the spice of life ... I guess that is how I see it probably because I am Nigerian.

I am just not attracted to White, Asian or Hispanic men. I have dated them but they just don't do anything for me.

I have always felt like that, the attraction isn't just sexual, I am just drawn to a good looking black man over any other man. Oh and being African, Caribbean or whatever doesn't bother me, my BF is Jamaican but I certainly would never have ruled out an African guy.
