    i remember the odd looks i got from some people (when they were looking at my ID badge), when I was doing my externship at my current institution. now imagine some of those people, wielding decisive power over promotions, assignments, etc etc.

    so much for progress

    Wow fam you make a good arguement as to why we still need affirmative action in this country. I use to think that we don't need it, I felt people should rise or fall on their own merit but when all know that certain employers will hire based on whims instead of skill I think we should force some type of affirmative action because over looked when you've worked hard for something ain't right.

    That's why we need to start making our own way. Unfortunately as long as those in power view themselves as giving us things and us not earning it we will never move forward.

    Some had to save the money so they won't be under the thumb of someone.
