I agree with "train for war but pray for peace" but the NEED to experience raw, naked barbarism ??? I don't know how things are in London but here in the states, there are organized sports leagues where you can EXPERIENCE all the barbarism you want, hockey, football, boxing, etc.

The best example of "raw, naked bararism" is none other than KIMBO SLICE himself. If you go to youtube and pull up his street fights, they were bare knuckle and raw, no if, and or but. However, even KIMBO gets his ass kicked and he gets beat by some guys you'd least expect to win.

Even the rawest, most barbaric person in America can get his ass kicked. Learn how to defend yourself, yeah I'm ok with that. But if you go after someone raw, don't be surprise if they are rawer than you will ever be or its some little dorky looking geek with glasses that turns out to be your worst nightmare.

    Anderson Silva rings a bell...

probably one of the best fighters, pound for pound in the UFC, who's very adept at Muay Thai and jiu jitsu, but gives interviews with glasses and is soft-spoken...

Kenny Florian is the same way. The guy looks like Ben Stiller and is pretty small compared to a guy like Kimbo, but his fight knowledge and heart are both excellent.

  3. You're missing my point - I mean being a combatant in a fistfight, not just spectating. The barbarity lies in its lawlessness, albeit brief, and you don't get that in legal Boxing, there or in Britain.

I do get your point which is why I was trying to avert you from that kind of thinking.

I was a bouncer in college to several different bars and clubs around campus. I've SEEN what you are talking about, up close. In real life, everybody is human. In a fist fight, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE. A guy can hit you just right and leave you with PERMANENT damage, blurred vision, periodic ringing in your ear, scatter the bone structure in your face that would require lots of surgery to fix. He doesn't even have to hit you hard, you can fall back or trip and hit the ground wrong.

Many young guys who just start drinking, gets that LIQUID courage when they have multiple drinks. I've seen and been in a few bar fights that were "raw and barbaric". I've also seen the unexpected results of them which is why I advise if you really want to let off some aggression, get in an organized sport. When your body starts acting funny and you don't know whats going on, there are knowledgable people there who could help you. You may have a tingling feeling in the back of your head and you think nothing of it and ignore it. That tingling feeling could be the onset of a blood clot in one of your main blood vessels to the brain that could lead to you being in a coma.

Its those UNEXPECTED results you have to be very careful of.

Well said my friend, your experience is the reason why it's just not worth it, it's a lottery you don't wanna play.

I think the OP would benefit greatly from a good old-fashioned ass-whooping. But thankfully most men I've met in my life haven't been stupid enough to need one.
