I've missed you GZ! I seen her in person last year at the Joyce Meyer women's conference. She is a great singer. If you ever need a book to read, pick up one of Joyce Meyer's books. She is absolutely wonderful! If she is ever in your area, go see her. Definitely worth it. I literally have almost all her books and cds. I like listening to her in my car. Also, another great singer is Marvin Sapp. He is married to a white woman and they have three kids together. He is a preacher.

 

02- I have seen Meyer preach on TV, she is pretty good. I have not read her books yet, I will check it out when I get a chance.

i have seen her preach in person and read several of her books, though i am not a follower of hers.

 

Signing in....found Him 10 years ago and have never felt such consistent, unshakeable faith. We all sin and I'm no exception, but in review of the last decade, I am stunned at how inextinguishable my lamp for Him is, however strong the hurricane.

This song was the shit back in the day. In 3rd grade we'd listen to the God's Property album damn near very day. Wouldn't really listen to gospel, but it's always got sick instrumentals.

Oh Tucker, that is COOL! I was 7 or so, got saved sitting next to my Grandparents in Church and didn't realize until yearrrssss later. (That I'd been saved).

how did you get saved without actually believing in Jesus and his death burial and resurrection and asking him into your life as your personal savior? thats what biblical salvation means

 

Guess I'd better clear things up a little.
I was raised in a very violent and abusive household and my Dad was the epitome of "Anti-Christian". My grandparents however, were beautiful, devoted Christians and I saw Jesus in them, in everything they said and did. I still treasure those times they spent with me, and they taught me about the Lord, both in word and deed. I learned about Jesus, salvation, forgiveness from them, and from going to Church with them those few times a year. When I was seven, I was sitting in Church, just enthralled with what the preacher was saying, and enjoying the peace and safety I had there (as opposed to the chaos that was my usual life with my parents). I distinctly remember being filled with the most amazing peace I'd ever known, being filled with love, and actually feeling love inside of myself. I said to Jesus, "I want to do what you want me to do, I want to be like you". I didn't think to tell anyone about it, my Grandparents were what would be considered today as conservative Christians and the Church they attended was quiet and humble. Years later, after I'd been baptized (at 21), I had been attending a spirit filled service and one of the preachers came up to me and reminded me of what had happened in Church that day with my Grandparents, saying that I'd been saved at an early age. I'd never spoken to the preacher before, it was my first visit at that particular Church and I didn't know anyone. (Sorry for the essay , I'm trying to condense this down but not doing so well!). So, the quick answer to your question is.....I knew all about the Lord, knew about salvation, forgiveness, redemption, but at 7, didn't connect what had happened to me that day in Church, with being saved myself. I just knew that I loved Jesus. Phew, ok. If you'd like to know anything else, feel free to ask.
