tarshi sadly when most of your friends are parents of disabled children theres always the chance that the children wont make it, have watched 5 friends lose thier children since i had kaya

and im hoping the babys going to be ok, hes a 29 weeker and mum got the steroids but i know the flip side of prematurity, kaya was a 25 weeker and her issues are all related to her premmie birth :(

  4. Honey, you don't think you, for your own happiness of mind, deserve to hang around with friends who aren't going to give you such bad news and get you down so regularly?

Yeah, it's very very hard on them, not saying you should cut off ties to them, I can only imagine how they must feel, not being a parent myself, but how hard is it for YOU? Who cares for the carer?

Couple of guys close to me, one my cousin, went through very messy divorces, another friend is going through one right now, you wouldn't believe how many tears have fallen on my shoulders - and I let one or two of my own go with them. But afterwards, a few days later, Friday rolls around and I'm off out with the boys, chasing skirt, or with Vanessa, but either way I'm laughing my arse off. I have to, otherwise I'd end up hating women and hating marriage.

It must be a hundred times worse for you, really, drop Kaya off with your parents for a night and go treat yourself. You deserve some happiness.

used to have friends non disability related, they disappeared sharpish when her needs became apparent and she wasnt the cute little scrap she was in hospital. first 2 friends who lost thier kids had spent weeks trying to prop me up since it was kaya who wasnt expected to make it and was on the machines.

my baby sis has kaya for me but its a toss up between watching a movie and going to bed early, im afraid bed often wins, lol im sure all parents know the extra sleep dilemma, lol

It's 6am and I haven't slept. Had to call in sick to work yesterday, gonna have to pick up extra shifts, if possible, next week to make up for it. Spent the day trying to not feel like i've been run over by a massive truck, then spent the late night and now wee hours of the morning saving my Nate's booty from copping out on a commissioned painting.

    >.< He was ready to send it off to the buyer half done, because he's too busy with school and crap...so I offered to finish it for him. I couldn't in good conscience allow that. On the upside, I think I might've managed to almost finish it..just needs some touch ups, minor details, and a bit of blending for the background and hopefully I can be done in about 2 or 3 more hours and the buyer can pick it up tomorrow and I can get something shiny bought for me outta the commission money because I'm an awesome girlfriend.

    HOLY SHIT, IT'S SNOWING!!!!!!!!!

In case you wonder why this is a big deal, I should point out: I live in Houston, Texas. It doesn't snow here except on rare occasions.

    I repeat: HOLY SHIT!

    Edit:

We might get anywhere between 1 and 5 inches of snow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited, it might actually stick this time! It snowed for a few hours last year but none of it stuck to the ground.

Christmas is early!!!!!!!!!! I miss snow so much!!!!!!!! THIS IS AWESOME!

I hope it sticks for you DH, and I hope you keep it in Houston! :)

The few times it's snowed here in the last decade, it shuts down the whole city. No one knows how to drive in it and the city apparently has no snow removal equipment, so it sucks. I suspect it's gotta be the same there?

I like snow as well, but only if it's accompanied by mountains.

    This amazon.com's review...

If you don't mind a heavy dose of schmaltz and sentiment, this romantic comedy has a gentle way of seducing you with its charms. While You Were Sleeping was the first starring role for Sandra Bullock after her blockbuster success in Speed. In a role that nicely emphasizes her easygoing appeal, Bullock is the reason the movie works at all. She plays Lucy Eleanor Moderatz, a Chicago Transit tollbooth clerk who's hopelessly smitten with a daily commuter, Peter Callaghan (Peter Gallagher). She saves the object of her affection from certain death after he's mugged and falls onto the train tracks. While Peter is in a coma, she lets his family believe that she is his fiancée, and surprisingly finds herself drawn to his brother (Bill Pullman), for whom the attraction is definitely mutual. How Lucy gets out of this amorous predicament is what makes this pleasant movie less predictable than its familiar ingredients would initially indicate. It's feel-good fluff, with characters and performances that keep you smiling through the drippy plot mechanics.

Now, if you're "living" this very description, all I can say is...my goodness!
