    Hi,

I haven't posted much here. I'm a bit caught off guard that there's an entire forum dedicated to this subject but none the less I'm curious to know more about the bar/club scene in L.A. I'm a mixed male and I'm looking for places with a variety of cultures and people. A place that mixes it up or maybe there's certain nights here and there where I can find a good crowd.

    Thanks.

I wish I could help you. I used to go out a lot back in the day, but not now. Everything always seem so young or too Hollywood. I'd like to see the replies myself. I personally want to go to cool spots where theres people in their 30s frequenting.

What in the world is too "Hollywood"?

    Okay the skinny -

Most Hollywood/Los Angeles clubs are integrated. You can maximize your chances by going where they play the "Beats" if you get my drift.

    Let's see... Where to go

Club Ivar is a place I like personally.

There are two clubs on Sunset just pass Hollywood. One is The Room, the other is just past the Beauty Bar, I forgot the name.

I hang out in that area because my dawg lives down the street (off Wilcox). Many of the smaller clubs in that general areas are good places to pick up.

Many of the women are college aged though, keep that in mind. Many don't mind age gaps, but most do (4-5 years).

Agree with that.. also anything in the beach cities (imo, people there are way relaxed and nobody seems to have much of hang-ups...
Hermosa Beach has a young, crowd.
    Venice Beach
    The Marina
    Santa Monica

    Abbott-Kinney/Washington
    Main St in Venice/Santa Monica.

I could go on and on...
sure looking for places w a beat works, but many other places in the beach cities are good.. I think I see mixed couples everywhere in the beach cities..

I hang out in Venice and Santa Monica a lot because I like the atmosphere.
When I lived in Playa Del Rey we were always "AWOL = Always West of Lincoln", we never ever ventured East of Lincoln Blvd:)

If Saty is lurking, I bet he could give a great perspective of what you are looking for.

Yeah, i guess I would assume a place with some beats is a friendly joint. I just haven't investigated enough of the clubs. The Beauty Bar however. I used to frequent that place. There's always good ratio there. For me at least. Someone recommended The Room to me. I'll have to try it out. Also, I think i'm college aged but with my beard I don't look it. Always throws people off. Not sure if it's a good thing.

Guess that means I've seen you at the Gas Lamp or Dragonfly huh? lol

I used to go to the Dragonfly when they played the beats (or I was playing the beats, depends)

Rpeg you can also try The Century Club in Century City. I think its still one of the better clubs that's also upscale, but gets down and dirty with the music if you get my drift.

I would try some of the so-called 'high-end' L.A. clubs...but, u need to be able to ball somewhat. You're guaranteed some of L.A.'s finest rollin' thru -- pick the best nights to go (weeknights).

    (1) MI-6 (W Hlywd)

    (2) Playhouse (Hlywd)

    (3) MyHouse (Hlywd)

    (4) Guys & Dolls (W Hlywd)

    (5) H-Wood (Hlywd)

    (6) Coco de Ville (W Hlywd)

    (7) Crown Bar (W Hlywd)

I should probably try the high-end joints just for the hell of it but it really isn't my thing. i like sweaty filthy clubs with non-stop dancing and dirt on the floor.

In the Venice/West LA area, can people over 30 meet and get married? It seems like people in the Y generation are getting married young these days.

Where in Venice could I meet some fine attractive, respectful women? No bars please.

You are acctually looking for a relationship?
Well, then the scene in Venice/West LA is probably not good for that. I thought you were just out for fun.

Imo - LA sucks when it comes to try to find a mate, you have to sift through all of the shallow empty people here (larger ration than anywhere else due to the Hollywood thingy).
If you are looking for quality women - I say you wont find them at any bars/clubs and the likes at all. JMO. Im not saying they are not at bars and clubs but they will be infinitely harder to find there.

    One suggestion:
Sign up for a class at the closest community college. Go through their catalog and look for classes that you think women would take.
There is plenty of cool stuff to do there, fencing for example. Car maintenance 101 or something like that has a high chance of having a good turn-out of single women.

Saty, my man - Help out here.

Probably. Other Southern California cities outside of LA then, such as Long Beach?

I think Long Beach is more real than LA, but I still would not look for a mate in bars and clubs etc... That is just me.
Dont know much about Long Beach other than a few restaurants I like there.
    Im sorry, Im no help:-(

    San Diego

San Diego is new for me; still trying to get a handle on this place.
The weather is fine, but the beaches are mostly for younger women and families, so that's not a good place for meeting new ladies 50+.
The Gaslamp District is as interesting as some areas of San Francisco as long as an older BM is content w/ tourist women looking for a one or two-nighter(which I've outgrown).

I'm searching for dining clubs or those mid-to-upscale establishments where local women in my age bracket and social preference tend to hang. There are a couple of places in the Mission Valley area that have paid off.

But for you younger (under 35) ones looking for some nice interracial hookups, I strongly suggest the GasLamp area. Loads of dark, interesting clubs loades with all kinds of interesting women.
