yeah..boys being boys..like a company commander using an enemy AK-47, during firefights.....

sometimes in battle, you can only go off audible sound, to judge friend/foe and direction of attack, so you get the gist of the situation...

If i'm correct, Generation Kill was based on true events, which makes the case even sadder.

right. well like i said, its just started here, and yes i've just read that it is based on true events, so I feel extremely sorry for those poor marines

If my computer had better features like a nice video card and faster processing, [oh, and a nicer screen that displays hd] then I think I could definitely give up my tv and just use my cpu to watch tv and browse the web.

    Until then, nah.

    I refuse to have TV.
    I dont like watching it.
If I want to see something I turn on my Mac and
    watch it over the Net.
Other than that, most contend on the Television is
    trash. It makes you dumm!
And the fakt that i am in the bussiness maing the
contend is making me even more uninterested in
    watching it...
For good movies you have to go to the movie theatre
anyway because everything in the cinematography is
made especially for the big screan viewing....

Nope, not gonna happen. I spend all my time working on a computer, I don't want to watch anything on it. Besides I'll take a 52" screen over a 19" screen everytime... for my viewing pleasure size does matter.

I don't watch TV during the week due to too much work, so I record several programs on the DVR and watch them commercial free on the weekend.

    On my list:
    Criminal Minds
    BattlePlan
    What Went Down
    Monk
    Psych
    The Closer
    Mentalist
    Bones

As far as I'm concerned the person that invented the DVR should get the Nobel prize in something. There is nothing more efficient than watching an hour long program in 40 mins. :smt045

Tv's old news. Cable prices are absurd and the technology is clunky to me. I'm waiting for the day I can pick out any show I want to see, DL very quickly and have it display on a flat screen display... which is more or less the computer right now (with just a couple problems). I'll stick to that.

Well, look at my sweet typos :p

In my opinion television for the average viewer is getting
lower and lower on quality. There are shows beeing produced
that only cover certain contents. But information is missing...
Even the news on certain channels are not NEWS in that sense.
You get filled up with so much unuseful entertainment. :smt073
I just think there are better ways to spent your freetime.

There are a couple of books i read about media and children
for example. Basically it s not a good thing to watch to much
tv or start in a early age. It prevents the healthy developement
of certain abilities. ALso prevents beeing active which is not just
for grown up, in fact for kids essential...

On american tv yes because their are like hardly any minorities on tv anymore the CW wiped them out and I cant stand any tyler perry shows .
And all the vanilla shows have the same glossy ultra fab glam shit that only teeny boppers will love .
I did like a couple of shows but after they no longer had their black cast on their i stopped watching .

I miss the 90's even more these kids today will never know what it was like to see stephan ur'kel or the urkel bot or laurie tell steve no i will never date you but in the end we all know steve got her .

The cosby show with theo doing some funny stuff like throwing a party and getting the house trashed or denise coming home to tell her parents she left hilman and got married to a navy officer who brought in the beautiful raven simon on to are tv screens as the cutiest little girl in the 90s .

The kids will never know the T.G.I.F line up and how kids would wait till friday to see their favorite show like full house .

It was such a good time to be a kid in the 90s for television and the cartoons were even better .

These kids will never know tv shows like blossom and my all time favorite fresh prince of bel air which made will smith a household name and megastar.

I woul hope with president obama being the first black president they would be a couple of sitcoms like cosby show fresh prince and family matters in the works .

Shit even i have an idea for a sit com that borrows the life of the first black prez and mix it up with fresh prince .
I call it the united states of Andrew ...its about a boy named andrew"drew"Parker who goes and lives with his uncle and his wife and their 3 children in the white house .
Andrew is a smart kid from new york city after his mom and dad split up his mom falls into her work and his dad jet sets around with young women .
Andrew is left to his own vices when his uncle who happens to be the president of the united states takes in his sisters only son he comes and spices the stuffy white house first black family up a bit .

I know its corny and the material is probably over done but if the show is funny and well written with good cast then i would watch that.

Everything is repeated on TV (especially Sky) over and over so you may as well go to the cinema or watch a DVD. As for the news etc it is predictable same old stuff again and again. Reality tv is sh.t and generally all of it is. There are the odd few programs I like for example "Chuck" and documentaries but overall I would say no and the same goes for video games, I will not allow them in my home at all. I have my PC though:smt024

There is much more to life than TV (and coach potatoes) like beautiful ww :smt049 and come to think of it women in general.
