Fuck the snow, and fuck the cold. I'd rather grind rails and curbs in the sun. I'm so out of shape, and haven't skated in 8 years, though. Shit.

Don't do skiing or snowboarding but, can you say, SNOWMOBILE !!!!

Up in the upper part of Michigan, where you can 6 foot snow falls in a day, places like Iron Mountain, they have annual snowmobile racing. Now that is a straight up, 100% blast. You have some guys who even race snowmobiles professionally.

The head engineer at the company I work for DESIGNS snowmobile engines that run strictly on nitro-fuel. You GLIDE across the snow traveling at the speed of a jet plane. Because you are in a snow covered field with miles and miles of open space in front of you, you can open that bad boy up, only thing people see is this big white streak of snow.

Now don't get me wrong, it has its draw backs. Traveling at that speed you hit a tree or a deer and you can forget about surviving. Also those loud engines can cause an avalanche. Last year one guy was trapped under the snow, caused by an avalanche, for 3 hours until he was found. Ended up having 3 fingers on one hand removed and two from the other because of frost bite.

Thats the only time of the year me and my girlfriend argue, she HATES it when I go there. She has two brothers and a couple of uncles who race snowmobiles so she knows the dangers of it.

damn, i forgot to include snowmobiling. Another great winter past-time. Wonderful responses so far. Wish I could post an action pick of myself but i think as of late i'm too busy riding the mountain(s) to stop for photo opps and pics.

Thanx for the responses. As of now, the poll seems to reinforce that stereotype i spoke of in the original post. Hey it is what it is, but we all enjoy what we do in life, and there's nothing wrong with that. I just urge those that don't necessarily enjoy cold weather sports to try to broaden their horizons and open up to the idea of sliding on snow because, in my opinion, you are missing out on one of life's most freeing experiences!

Well we did come from the tropics & Sahara.

We weren't built for that cold.

C'mon now:) I was born in Sweden an IM not built for that cold...

Funny enough I used to live where I had 5 slopes within a 15 kilometer radius and skiid all the time day and night.
Now, ehhhh.. I rather do all the summer sports....
Only one winter sports I still love to do is speed-skating, that is awesome!
