I think what she is saying was Sen Al Frankin had a bill in congress that promises to have a trial for the rape victims of private contractors and it was opposed by the Republican members.
Yeah, and it looks like Dan Inouye, Democratic Senator from Hawaii who is apparently bought and paid for by the defense contractors, is going to strip Franken's amendment out of the final version of the bill because he thinks that if we hold government contractors to account for raping their employees, then they'll no longer want to take the billions that the government is shelling out to do our dirty work in Iraq and Afghanistan. I've become totally disillusioned with politics and the government. It seems like the corporations run this country no matter who's in charge, and there isn't a goddamn thing we can do about it.
Completely understand where you are coming from here, and there is a lot of truth to what you are saying. It is VERY easy to become jaded and say to hell with the whole system. However I would encourage you that this is exactly why we need men of your great intellect and character involved in politics at every level, things won't change until "we" the people change them.
It is funny that the Congress dropped funding for ACORN within days but, on Defense contractors they go slow.
Dude you gotta be a little more optimistic than that. That's exactly what these corporations you speak of WANT us to think.:smt045
