Favourite Whiskies?

Discussion in 'Conversations Between White Women and Black Men' started by Jaybee in WWBM, Oct 23, 2009.

  1. By far and wide, the Johnnie-boy Walker series, Black is best (no pun intended), just has the gorgeous smoky flavour I love in everything. Enjoying a splash of it at the moment, and it's pretty rare I drink before the w/end. Red's ok, the cheapest of the bunch, but not too bad really. I can take or leave. Tried the vaunted flagship 'Blue', £150 a bottle, or a tenner per single shot...don't bother. It's a gimmick to con rich Arabs.

    Outside the JW family, it's either Chivvy Regal, though I grew out of the taste, and Lagavulin. Speyside is pretty good too.

    Golden Raspberry award to Jack Daniels....this should be renamed 'Jack Shit', tastes like my car's battery acid, and frankly I'd rather drink the latter.

    £150 a bottle! That is expensive stuff. Hope you have a good job to stock it.

    Depends on the origin and distillation of the whiskey/whisky.
    Scotch, Irish or American. All very different. Some triple distilled eg Irish (Jameson), some double distilled (J Walker), or even single distilled like many American brands.
    Always good for the arteries. My dad testifies to this. lol

  6. I'd come around your place in a flash tonight Nyx, I haven't tried Green yet, it's quite rare, but I'm already out with the chaps! Yeah, I'd love to see your full inventory. Glenny isn't bad at all, not my first choice by any means but if there's nothing else, you won't hear me say "No".

    ST - My line of work isn't a 'job' as such, but I get by... :) But like I say, Blue is just deliberately overpriced Black, plus a cap of butter in every bottle, at least that what it tastes like. Don't get me wrong, it tastes great, but not QUITE as good as Black, which is about a 7th of the price. I've had it in shot rounds with the guys to toast off the night, you could hear the tearing sound when the waiter unscrewed the bottle in our presence, so you know it was genuine. It just didn't taste like anything SPECIAL. I wouldn't give it space in my cabinet.

    It is all in the packaging when it comes to that whisky. Nonething special like the Scotch and their making of whisky;

    The bushmill malt irish whiskey is my very favourite. It has pretty woody taste, I just love it.....

    Whiskey tastes like shit, but so does all alcohol, which is why I rarely drink the shit. Peppermint Schnapps for me. It's cheap as fuck, and gets the job done. Fuck the expensive and "classy" shit.

    Yeah, I see that. I wonder why, though. Never understood that. But I won't even drink anywhere near as much to find out why.

    I LOVE a smoky single malt scotch and have been known to occationally smoke a stoogie with it

    There is this bar in Houston called 10 Downing Street that has a walk-in humidor and shit load of wiskey.. nice to sit down ina leather chair and smoke a stoogie and drink a bit of wiskey.

    Lapraigh or Lagavulin is good enuff for me:)
