Local and temporal distance are protective shields, without which we could not survive.
(ie you see the result of a bombing or earth-quake on TV-News - or you stand personally in between)

The crime itself does not become less cruel or wrong, but the emotions about it, yes.

I have been in the states since 94 - the vast majority of my misstakes are due to speed... type too fast and I really dont care about spel cheking on forums..
Trust me, I can both spell and do grammar correctly, (I dont think I would be able to pass graduate school with out doing so) - if I so please...

I just thought it was such a clear case of miss spelling, I didnt know it came with restrictions of correct spelling of the rest of the post, my misstake:)

Next time I make darn sure I spell everything else correctly teach... or... I might just continue to do typose just for you.
    :)

He should serve the time in jail that any rapist receives, and then extra for fleeing the country. Rape is rape. Just because the man is old, rich and famous, it does not take the crime that he committed away and it does not make it any less acceptable. That lady for the rest of her life will remember what happened to her. Any persons first sexual partner should be one of their choosing & it should be when they are ready. Who here at 13 would want their innocence taken away? Let him experience rape first hand and then rot in jail.
    Just my 2 cents worth.

  11. A rape for a rape. By your logic, some 31y.o lady teacher who gives her underage student his first experience, thus violating society's trust in her, should be thrown in jail, then raped by her guard, a big, fat, ugly, hairy 55y.o brute.

No, of course not. I think that YOU can't stand him only because he is old, rich and famous.

Jaybee, to say that I’m insulted by your comment is an understatement. My disgust for the man does not come from his wealth, age or his fame it comes from what he did. I cannot stand him because he plied a 13 year old girl with champagne and drugged her then raped her.

  13. You damn well should be, you are advocating rape as a punishment for rape! I admit I haven't read a lot of your posts but until that one, you seemed like a reasonable woman to me. You pretty well blew it in that one post, Tarsh.

You are equating the forceable rape of 13 year old girl with giving an underaged student "his first experience."

That's repellent. WTF is wrong with you?

  16. We'll come back to that. Do you, for one second, feel that Polanski should be raped in jail as revenge/retribution?

No, let's not come back to that. Let's stick on the point where you romanticize statutory rape as a means of trivializing the vaginal & anal forceable rape of a little girl who repeatedly said 'no' to her attacker.

  18. You don't set the topic, bucko/buckette. Tarshi wants the rape of Polanski, in prison, as revenge or retribution.

    That's it.

Oh, and apparently you do set the topic? You interrupted a discussion about a rapist to exclaim your offense at a comment made by Tarshi. I have posted about how much your comment offends me. You're responding by suggesting I'm taking your tangent on a tangent? Forgive me if I don't give that too much weight.

No matter the context, your comments are misogynistic, backwards and disgusting. You can try as hard as you can to make this about Tarshi's position, but there is not a scenario where her comments, no matter what they were, could have justified yours.

I do not want to talk about Tarshi first. I want to talk about the horrible shit you posted first.

If you choose not to, well that's your choice. If you feel comfortable not explaining your post, then we can only assume you stand by what you said.

If you're happy being seen as being okay with men forceably raping little girls, then I guess that's just your stance.

    Hey, they're only females, right?

  20. You're damn right I set the topic, and that I stand by what I said. You need assume NOTHING with me. If I typed it, I meant it. I'm a man who says what he means, and means what he says.

    Now, finally, before we end this repartee, let's you and I look at what you wrote;

It's "forcibly", not "forceably", do you understand? Do not expect me to take your fallacious thinking with any LESS contempt than it deserves if you can't or won't type it correctly.

Anyway, I have more important matters. Have a nice weekend.
