But generally, it was very important in Germany to legalize this prostitution. It gave the women the decision, the free will to work in this business or not. Without any pimp in the background who beated them and took the money away. I have to say, it was a good decision to handle it like this.

Given the legality of prostitution in your country, I better understand your original response.

For sure it´s important to know. Is it still illegal in US?

For sure it has nothing to do with human trafficking. That would be horrible...

But for me, I don´t want that my closest person has to supress anything. ..

It is still illegal in the U.S., except some parts of Nevada, I believe.

This is a very balanced, fair and reasonable response, Lippy. Not sure how folks who have crossed the lines you mention might feel, but your responses at least identify the practical matters at hand. For me, I simply see the complexity of it all for individual circumstances, and I avoid passing judgment. I have seen MANY, men and women, in all walks of life, seek satisfaction outside of their marriages. Sometimes we may not respect or agree with the acts of others, but the respect for the person should not be lost entirely, unless you have walked a mile in their shoes.

Fly, I respond to your posts rarely, but you are someone I admire greatly for your dedication to and adoration of your man. I don't think you have much to worry about. Some folks cheat by stepping out, others cheat their spouses by failing to provide the attention, respect, kindness or adoration they deserve. I don't think anyone could accuse you of any of the latter.

I am glad you didnt take it as me attacking prostitutes or those who patronize them. I really only care if it happening with the one I choose to be with. Like I said, for me trying to make the world a little better rather than take advantage is important to me.

Understood. And prostitution takes many forms, some much more exploitive and harmful than others.

Fair enough. By the way, I'm not married.

Slightly incorrect. I know for a fact prostitution is legal in Rhode Island as long as it is kept indoors and not publically advertised (in Rhode Island). So in theory, a brothel in Rhode Island can advertise a "health spa" in a neighboring states (such as my own massachusetts) newspaper that they offer "relaxation" treatments. They can't specifically state sex work as that is a violation of my states laws.

Nevada law dictates prostitution is legal in specific counties. In Las Vegas proper prostitution is legal as long as it is brokered indoors. So basically it is legal to call a prostitute to your hotel room and negotiate a fee there. It is illegal to pick up a streetwalker.

Those are the only states i know of their mandates.

I think it is much better that prostitution is legal and controlled. It gives more protection to both the woman and her clients.
Also reduces the risk of criminal involvement in the business.
And yes i would prefer my boyfriend to go to a prostitute than the cheat with another woman.

You are very right, it´s much safer and cleaner (regularly medical checks) for the girls and for the clients...

    How is it in France?

Prostitution is legal but not allowed to make money from prostitutes. Ok if done by the woman.
Used to be primarily african women, but now with crisis there are are more and more French white women too.
