All of us, some more than others, have experienced missed encounters where we have had an apparent mutual attraction, but failed to say or do something to make our attraction known. This thread is for us to express what we really wanted to say at those moments, even though our own shyness, dating/marital status, or the setting may have prevented us from saying what was really on our mind. I have had many over the past couple of years, so with all confessions, the list is long when you haven't done it in a while. I won't lengthen this intro unnecessarily with my initial list of unexpressed flirtations, but I will post a reply with a couple to get started. Hopefully, this will provide a therapeutic release for those times when we see someone hot and need to say something or, at least, give the rest of us examples of what flirtatious lines may have been safe and successful to say under the circumstances.

To the beautiful, petite "school mom" who initiated a hug to greet me at the orientation, I wish to say:" I still remember your caress of my forearm at the last parent party, are you trying to get my attention"

For my Big Man, my protector, Diané. I had to forget you, because your friend is too strong. I want to see you living and growing. You will never read these lines and you will always think bad of me. Excuse me...

To that blonde from Massachusetts who taught underprivileged children and studied philosophy at Boston College. Yes you were cute and I was able to read your cues, but that accent really grated on my ears. Sorry.

to the bodyguard in las vegas...i heard you outside my hotel room door...after seeing you in the coffeeshop, when you asked me for my room number...i gave it to you without thinking...i realized that the show didn't end until 11pm and then you would be working for a bit after the show.....when i got back to my room i put out the "privacy please" sign...i wanted to see you again that night...i went over 500 scenarios in my mind of what might happen if i let you in...trust me i had several good fights with myself...you brought someone with you so i could have answered but what would they have thought if i answered the door barely dressed...you didn't knock...and then left...i thought i might see you in the morning at breakfast...i had an early training class that morning...

    To my good friend's fiance:

Why would you touch my arms, even casually, in front of your fiance? There were countless times where you would find little ways to touch me and although it sometimes threw me off guard, or made me slightly turned on, it shouldn't have happened?

What were you expecting me to do? Flirt back with you? Hit it later on?

To the 3 guys on the airplane the other day, if you had succeeded in swapping seats with the guy beside me you would have been sorely disappointed. At that point, I had been up 28 hours straight, worked out in 100 plus degree weather most of the day and even rained on. Not only would I have just fallen asleep, I reeked. :smt003

I wish you hadn't gotten married. But I appreciate the time I had to get to know you....and if it wasn't for you, I never would have found this site.

    So thanks for that. :smt023

To the blonde cashier with gorgeous, deep-set eyes who handled my late-night grocery purchases as we stared intensely but clumsily into each others eyes: You grabbed the store mic and announced that the almost empty store was closing in 15 minutes; should I have waited for at least 16?

    To my ex-boyfriend's friend.

I thought the night that you told me that you were falling in love with me that you had just had one too many drinks. One of your friends told me a few days later that your confession was real and that you had been debating for a month about whether or not you should tell me. A few weeks later, you and I ended up spending an innocent night together watching movies after my boyfriend at the time got called into work. You fell asleep on the couch, and I went to bed. I didn't sleep that night. I debated on telling you that I knew your feelings and that I had been attracted to you since the first night that I saw you. I decided that I couldn't do that to him and that I didn't want to come between your friendship since the two of you were like brothers. If I had only met you first, things might have been different.

If I still could talk to you I would tell you that I thought you were the love of my life and I was so sure you thought the same about me. I would tell you that when I think about you I still cry, even though a year has passed. I would try to tell you that I hate you, but I know I wouldn't be able to say that. I just hope you regret losing me because you were a jerk. I really hope you hate yourself for that.

To the cute guy in the pickup truck, who smiled at me every time we coincidentally (?) kept hitting the same red lights while stuck in traffic, I wish I had followed you off the exit ramp when we finally got moving - believe me, I seriously considered it - and at least let you know that I was on my lunch break, but was definitely interested in talking to the man behind the smile.

to the blond with the amazing curves in Wal-Mart yesterday:

If I had my way, you would've never walked again. It's an overrated experience, anyway ;)
