Just in, perhaps, the last 3 days, I have felt a distinct shift in the weather away from winter towards summer. I had forgotten what that feels like, after nearly a year of winter (northern, then southern hemisphere). I know that most of you are up north so will be heading towards another winter soon...

The weather here feels electric, like something amazing is waiting to happen, and it's very energising. I am not really looking forward to summer per se, as they're predicting a scorcher, but it's nice for now.

Is the same thing happening for all of you?

Uhm, well, my summer is about to come to an end.

    In September, to be exact.

And all summer the weather has been okay; not as hot as usual (which is a good thing).

We don't really have seasons in Houston. It goes from hot, to hotter, to warm bordering on hot, to cold without warning but with plenty of hot days thrown in at random. The latter is called "winter" here.

...So I guess that's a no from me. I'm more in tune with the phases of the moon here.

About to turn from summer to fall

all four seasons in the mile high city...we did not have a hot summer infact there was not a day that we hit 100 and only a few days in the 90s...right now we are experiencing mild warm days and cool evenings...love sleeping all snuggled up in my comforter with the window open...it won't be long and the leaves will be turning and falling to the ground...i do love the change in seasons as it marks the holiday season being right around the corner...

I don't think Chicago had one heat index advisory day this summer, which is very unusual. I could be wrong though.

It's the end of August (I can't f-ing believe the summer is almost gone already) and I can't remember the last day that we even hit 90.

This has been an extremely mild summer in Chicago. And that is scaring me about what winter will bring. The last two winters were nearly unbearable for me. :( Hopefully this mild summer will translate into a mild winter.

In either case, I heard a DJ on the radio yesterday say that it's nearly time to start Christmas shopping. Holy hell, where has the year gone??

I'm so waiting for the fall, but nothing happens yet. Just at night, it become a bit more chilly. Can't wait for some fresh hair. The summer was way too hot and humid this year.

Well - I hate you all. It's technically the end of winter here and we hit an incredible 35 degrees the other day (95F). That is lunacy. At least it's not humid (yet).

Anyway - the change of season from winter to 35 degrees happened in 3 days - so...it was very noticable. And I was surprised at how it changed my mood, energy, etc...hence the point of my original post. :)

Either way - I'm buying sunscreen in bulk this year. :(

It's been mild in St. Louis too this summer. We had some hot days, but this summer has been much cooler than normal, feeling like early autumn on many days.

For those of you unfamiliar with Midwestern weather, we get everything except hurricanes. In the Midwest it is much harder to find a single point where the seasons change because the weather changes here a lot, even in a single day. Just two seasons ago (in January), it was about 22 degrees Celsius (about 71 F), and one hour later, it was -1 C(29 F) with whiteout conditions. And there is always a major battle between cold and hot here. Fall announces itself with the first chilly nights. Then it is followed by more summer. Then even colder weather, then more (but weaker) summer. Th transition from winter to summer is the same way. It starts with warm days, then goes right back to winter. This dance continues until summer sets in in June.

I sorta miss that.. feeling the temp drop from 85 to 55 in 15 minutes..
You never know what you gonna get during the "not-so-hot-season" (aka "winter") in H-town...

Now its back to hotter than h$ll here in LA
