    1. What was your "status" when you joined up?
    2. What were you hoping to get from this forum/site?
    3. Has either of those changed since you joined?

    1. Single

    2. I've never dated interracially, nor have I ever wanted to do so, but I am trying to understand interracial dating better. BTW, I am a Black woman.

    3. I've actually lurked a bit before joining today, but I am still single- by choice!

Well,,,I've been a member for roughly 3 years. Actually , when i joined this joint the population was rather small. The only members i can remember that are still active to this day is Bryant, Petty, Laydiezmancriss ,MistressB and brothaz like Lucifer and some other cats. Despite the small population, the social community we had back then talked about THINGS THAT MATTER. Therefore to me this place was a place i could talk(or vent) openly about racial matters, with no restrains

We had this one member who called himself "jaydun25". A smart guy who tackled the concept of racial relation/realities with no guilt or remorse. That's what i loved about this site. The fact that there was no censorship and the subject matter, actually mattered.

I remember Bryant asking me why me and a lot of veterans have ceased coming on here....and the main reason is that this place is becoming more and more like the rest. I mean, there are still "some" really good (and worth while) topics on here, but the amount of useless threads ("who would you pair with whom" type of threads) that get created, especially by the new members makes veterans like us, stand against the wall (similar to how black women behave on the dance floor, when a group of white women start "dancing")......and we just watch in disgust,,,haha

    anyways

I have to say, i agree with you. The dynamic of this site has changed quite a bit since we both arrived. Heck, i'm known as the nice guy around here, but the debates were so heated back then, i even found myself in the middle of quite a few of them. This forum now seems to be more of a social networking site, with a little bit of debate thrown in here and there. I think what most of us (myself included) are waiting for, is someone like Jaydun to introduce some new thought provoking topics. Topics that haven't been covered before ad nauseum. After so many years, it seems like there isn't much ground that we haven't already covered on the race issues, which is probably the reason why not many of those threads currently exist. Could be wrong though.

So, BMJ, if it bothers you that much, then why don't you be the leader and start up those conversations again, instead of waiting for someone else to do it. :smt045

    Just a thought....

    1. I'm married
    2. Interracial Community. A place online where I can support other interracial couples, and maybe occasionally receive some support as well. A place to learn and debate and do all the stuff I do elsewhere on the web, with a group that while diverse shares a lot of my same goals and values. An opportunity to see what other IR couples have in common, and what is important to us at the moment. I guess I'm being wordy, I should just say: the opportunity to chill online with a whole bunch of other IR-minded folks. The last IR online group I was a part of was Interracial Onelist, from Yahoo, back a hundred million years ago. This one is more specific to the type of IR I'm in, and that's pretty interesting, too.
    3. Nope.

    Hello again!

I'm really digging this forum, man why I did wait so long?

Well here's my story.... I found a beautiful at the local pub that my attention. She the scaled proportionally, from height to width for me. See, I'm a big guy who need a woman who can handle bearhugs.:D

I told her what I think of her in front of her co-workers & the chasing has already begun. I think one of the reasons why she a little reserved on wanting to go out we me from what I was told by one of her co-workers.

I just assume let everything simmer down for a little while and try something different this time. So, in the past few days, I been collecting my thoughts on paper & pen. Winston Churchill was a baller when it came to writing "love letters", I brought calligraphy pen and some strathmore paper and started to pour my heart out on. And... I burned her a compulation of thoughtful love songs with my thoughts in a album style format.

The local courier service will drop of the package her shift at work, the release date is this coming soon(this Friday).

I don't remember why I joined, as I don't have a strong preference for any particular type of woman. I just like women in general and they like me. I began to attract white women after becoming an adult and perhaps wanted to delve into the psychology of it?

Supposedly this started as a site for swingers, but that vibe wasn't evident back then. I remember a smart lady named Cordelia and my first encounter with flygirl, who I've "known" the longest of anyone online.

I've been a member of various forums under a variety of aliases for several years, and tend to be drawn to the sociological value of a particular discourse. If there is some personal interest as well, it will reveal itself or not.

I just wanted to meet fine black men. Period.

  13. Me too!

When I first joined though it was a couple of years ago and then, about a year ago, I can't remember why, I must have picked a really dumb username or something, I created a new account (this one).

I'm new to this list. I have been skimming through a number of the posts in another site and this question popped into my mind. Can those of you who are attracted to black women or black men share what the attraction is for you?

Here's my response to that question. My ex fiance was an intelligent, witty, handsome, sexy and oh soooooo HOT black man!! Woo Hoo!!! (Sorry, got carried away!) People have asked me for years now what the attraction is for me. Initially I would respond with something like "some prefer blondes, some prefer blue eyes - heck some like pizza and others don't - I just happen to be attracted to black men." Lame I know but it is true. THEN, my mother gave me a picture of my father that I hadn't seen before. I had to look twice to recognize that it was my father and not a black man in the photo. My father's ancestry is spanish and turkish. That in and of itself is not a real dark mix, however he worked outside and so he was always very, very tanned.

Also, my brother had done a tour in the Middle East when he was in the U.S. Navy and so he had been exposed to the sun quite a bit. I remember pulling into my mother's driveway one day and saw what I thought was a black man getting off his motorcycle, but no...is a mediterranean guy. It was my brother!

In any event, I believe that this is the reason I am so attracted to black men.

Anyway, people are always saying that women try to find a man like their father and men a woman like there mother. My guess is that I am attracted to black men because my father was so dark.

Sorry this is so long - I'm just curious as to whether others out there are attracted because of something similar or not.

However...now Im in this site and would like make friends...(sorry for my english)...:?

well it might be thats a reason ur attracted to them, but i wouldnt know. I mean i am attrackted to anyone i just am (lol) but i agree, i do like black man a lot, and i think its because they are different, and i love different. I dunno how to explain it, but i love africa, and my man is from africa, so thats a big YES, and i dunno what really attrackts me to him so much, but i mean the african americans, its because of theyr ways how they wlak talk and act, if u compare to whites they are more borning, not tryna be mean or anything, but i mean that just my oppinion, and then again there are boring whites, as also mexican, and black, and whatso ever. I mean no doubt i love my man, but thats cos he is very different from any other guy i have ever met, he has a wild side which is sexy, but the thing i love so much about him is his sweet sensitive and romantic side, love that in a guy, and in my eyes he is almost so perfect it is scary (lol)
    Anyways..this is about you
so i wanna say i really like the explanation u gave, i thought it was very cute, and u seem very happy with your sexxxyyyy and HOT man
I wanna wish u good luck, and maybe some day we will both find why we are atrackted to them as we are (lol)
    Luv
