Sad news at our house, we had to put one of our horses down. You can see from the picture how much our kids loved him and how gentle he was. We initially saved him from a very abusive previous owner and nursed him back to health, unfortunately in the end he could not overcome a very serious fracture to his navicular bone. We will miss our "Scout".

Brilliantly said. It's wonderful that Scout had the opportunity to experience loving and caring owners.
Still, I'm sorry your family are having to go through it Loki :(

Thanks all for the kind words, we are doing ok, surprisingly the kids are doing ok with it, my wife and is still a little weepy. I am surprising her on Sunday with a new horse that she has had her eye on for about six months, knowing her as I do, that will go a long way to ease her loss.

hazel, my son's cat. the proud mouser and bird hunter in the family brought me a present this morning in bed...all the cats followed her to my room and everyone jumped in my bed...she was growling like crazy mad at the others...she gets up on my chest puts something down and then sits up looking like the queen of sheba...

    awwwww...it's a dead bird...what a wonderful present:smt009

    Here are my mothers dogs...
The one in front is a puppy called Ziggy - half Australian Sheperd and half Irish Setter - The goofiest dog around..

Apparently Ziggy got a dog as a tail:)

That dog is Gibson (named after the guitar, yes) a 13 year old Ridgeback who is severely allegic to meat proteins, been a vegetarian all his life poor thing.
