I'm on Facebook. It's much better than Myspace, IMO.

I got Facebook, but my profile is private so non friends can view and even access my profile. But it is better than MySpace.

When did MySpace jump the shark?

I remember when Facebook was basically a college student-only networking site that required a university ID to join. Back then, it was quite bare in terms of glitz and the usual bells and whistles...but still fun. Myspace seemed infinitely more popular with far more registered users (obviously they were catering to EVERYONE). It seems that with the rise of Twitter and the opening of Facebook to the masses, Myspace has started to decline. I always thought that while Myspace had more window dressing (the Mob Wars on there were fun last summer), Facebook was more intuitive and it is easier to locate friends and colleagues.

    What do y'all think?

  12. I remember first joining and having real trouble with having to use my real name. But, I think that this feature has helped make FB so popular, because everyone is reuniting, with everyone - being able to do so by seeing real identities. I also think people became quickly hooked on status updates (and myspace later added that feature). At first I couldn't stand FB because it looked so boring, but now it is my preference by far.

I agree..that is the best part. Myspace allows people to have all kinds of nicknames and it becomes difficult to find people that you actually know. Facebook seems more "open." There is more of a community aspect to it that makes it feel like it really is a networking site.

still they dont check it you can have a fake name.. i dont have my last name there just 3 letters of the last name only :p

  15. At the start I didn't use my real name either, but that defeats the entire purpose of being there, as your friends wont know it's you. I changed to my real name pretty quickly.

I understand what you mean..but i dont know a lot of people and most of my friends already we talk on email and msn sometimes, so i can just tell them the page for facebook .. I dont have any contacts with people that i went to school so does not matter if i have my real name or not .
and i have no ralatives on facebook either.

I don't have my facebook page under my legal name. My legal name is nowhere to be found on there. I just use my maiden name. And because of that, I've reconnected with old HS and college friends that never would have found me otherwise.

I also have a myspace page. I haven't really used it lately. I pretty much only get friend adds from guys who see my pic and want to friend me so they can start talking sex with me. GAG. Seriously, WTF is wrong with people? :|

I've been debating on whether or not to finally just delete my page. None of my friends on there seem to use it anymore.
