    Uuuummmmm,

    How about this

She is less likely to date a thug if:

    1. She has ANY respect for herself
    2. She has worked hard for things in her life and appreciates everything she has EARNED
    3. She has an education, and would like to have a partner who who can communicate with her
    4. She does not want drama in her life

I will enjoy being "OVER 40 and not married (gasp) while I am sitting on my balcony, drinking a martini while I look out over the golf course and the ocean in my Jimmy Choos.

This is why a man and a woman should just meet for a cup of coffee and talk for about an hour or less. There is so much expectation when you first meet someone on a date, I myself make my intentions known if I am attracted to a woman before I even go on a date.

Single as long as I want to be. I can settle anytime I want, I rather not.

Living at home is cheap, SUE me. I have my reasons, imperfect or not ideal is not a subject of ridicule

When did this turn into yet another attack on me?

Fact is, most men under 40 want to date women under 30. Most men don't wanna be involved with another man's children, regardless of the relationship, which in reality is 9 times out of 10 adversarial and negative.

If a woman wants to be unmarried and single at 40, that's perfectly okay, nobody cares, maybe your mother, but nobody else.

I don't know why when I bring up the age factor (call it discrimination if you want) you always chime in with some attack on my personal choices. If I was ashamed of living at home (not something I have always done) I would have never brought it up, its not like anybody here knows be personally and two people that do, ha wouldn't dog me about it.

And finally what does attack me about what I said have to do with this thread overall???????

    Stop derailing threads please.

So wait, because I'm in my twenties and childless, that makes me more likely to 'pick a thug'?
Being young doesn't make you stupid, you do realise that, don't you?

As for the thread, to be honest I've never had a problem telling the differences between a date and 'just kicking it.'
When it comes to someone you've just met, their intentions can sometimes be difficult to work out, but I still don't think it's that complicated to find out whether a man is interested in you romantically or just wants to be friends. If he invites you to a restaurant, buys you drinks, flirts with you and is affectionate and wants to see you again, then I'm pretty sure that's a date. If he doesn't kiss you at the end of the night or try to slide back to your place, so what? I'd prefer that. I personally think it makes a guy more of a gentleman and would never assume he was gay or any stupid shit like that just because he didn't try and shag me on the first night.

Now if a guy invites you to a football game, turns up in slacks, is checking out other women and basically doesn't act like he's interested, he's probably not interested.
The problem with women is that they look into things too much. I've been guilty of this myself but I've learnt from it pretty quickly. Men aren't that complciated. If you're dating, you'll know about it, trust me.

You are confusing "facts" with "your opinions"...

Exactly. I've been shot down by guys 25-35 before just because they wanted a woman who was older than them.

There are a lot of opinions on who people wanna date and things arent as black and white as some people tend to think.

I guess I just have a thing for when people pass off their own opinion as facts..
    :)

:smt043:smt043:smt043I see I'm going to need to step up my game play to be a part of this union. I really thought the nice things in the 'person before you' thread would get me a pass in. Back to the drawing board. ;)
