Not really, honestly...But I've worked so hard on colouring it, and changed my mind so many times it just got to the point where I was like "ok, I guess this will have to do". I'm extremely picky, and I was over picky with this one cause it was so important to me, ya know? but thanks, though. I think Beth would've liked it, too. And thanks, Athena and Noface.
I understand how you feel - as this piece was so important to you, it might never have lived up to your own expectations - things have a tendency to do that to us when it is important. Personally, I think you have some wonderful details in it such as the droplets of water - genious. I really loved the way you did that on top of the water... There is a warmth between the two of you that you can sense and there is a joy in the picture... hope.... I think Beth would be very happy and honored by the picture and maybe you even got a at least a little bit of closure by painting this peautiful piece! I really do love it.
Preliminary (and largely unfinished) sketches for character designs for my comic (hooray for comic book class!) Main char, Seraph (have posted her before) Her eventually adopted son, though the story follows his first appearance before she becomes his guardian and her nerdy side-kick the last one is based on a character a friend of mine created...promised him a long time ago he'd make an appearance if I ever made a comic, so there he is. lol Character designs may change, as I said, these are just rough ideas for now.
Thanks babe. I may post more tonight. I need to rough out some designs for both the villain(s) and her boyfriend...unless I decide to skip the boyfriend subplot and just have her single, for simplicity's sake. I gotta do a 10 page comic in 10 weeks...wouldn't be difficult at all, if I didn't have 3 other classes with massive projects due as well. lol I have to learn to use Protools, write a big research paper plus study for two big tests, -and- make about 3-4 big projects in 3dsMax along with doing the comic. ...and get a real job, too. lol I'm gonna be so busy this quarter!
I gotta make those shadows a bit softer, I think, and adjust the lighting so the bg looks smoother, but damn...i'm good. haha...ohhh I'm so sleepy. No sleep til 7am?! craaaazy. But I've been working on this ho all damn night.
The crack doesn't allow me to have steady hands....lol jk the hand is steady but the ruler always ends up crooked...and I'm so awesome at it that I have no idea where the line is going to go once the ruler is placed....Right....I won't quit my day job.
I been hording some of my school projects.... The is a 'School of Music' project, the site was on the Berlin Wall on the Spree River(Germany:smt054). My thesis was based on reverberation made by the performance, unseen be eye or ear. So, all the floors in the hallways promote these frequencies. All most went to Berlin for a 3 day trip, if my classmates had their passports ready. Scale: 1"=10m.
WARNING: The following are EXTREMELY rough cuts. I promise, I'm a much better artist than this. These are simply part of the creative process for me, something to help me have something visual to compare to the stuff in my head...help me get the flow of the story and see if my ideas for panels may work. It's obviously a work in progress, but my comic shall be bad ass so I figured I'd share. There are plenty of notes since I know most of the squigglies probably don't make sense. Think of it like storyboards for a comic book.......lol Page one is still extremely squiggly, so I put in a photo of something similar...angle is alll wrong, though, but it's a pretty church at night so this works as reference for now. lol http://www.hotlinkfiles.com/files/2730355_bvnbb/pg1test.jpg Page two, interior of the church, continuing the conversation started on the first page http://www.hotlinkfiles.com/files/2730352_2rkxt/pg2test.jpg Page three, the chase! but not really. http://www.hotlinkfiles.com/files/2730354_wwxqy/pg3test.jpg Page four, splash page! I cheated and used two in the intro, though the teacher said to keep them sparse, but I only plan to use one more, at the end. The rest will all be panels. This one will be soooo awesome if I draw it correctly... http://www.hotlinkfiles.com/files/2730353_ckmhx/pg4test.jpg The first four pages, if all goes well, will be grittier, darker, and have an almost sketchy inking (again, if all goes well and I don't change my mind)...The rest of the story is lighter, with explanations of this scene, but within the character's "normal" life, which is discussed in her voiceover (the yellow boxes of text). This is a partially inked, but not even finished drawing (I was testing out a pen, sue me. lol) of the 5th page. It introduces the love interest of the story...a tall, dark, handsome, dreadlocked man named Julius http://www.hotlinkfiles.com/files/2730351_9kphk/pg5test.jpg I've got 5 more weeks to finish this, so I'm trying not to stress about it yet. Though really I wish I would've had the pages all well drawn and inked by now, but I've changed the story like three times 0.o This should help me get the ball rolling, though! I plan on having these inked and the colours at least started by Thursday, barring 3dsMax problems with my other homework.
