Thick, some of those brothers think the Italian women are in their minds La Dolce Vita. Most are not the horny type but unfortunately they are aggressive and expect them to jump in the sack at the slightest romantic provocation. No question some have more than one Italian girlfriend.

well my mums in emergancy respite care

no one seemed to have noticed shes having absence seisures every few minutes but they wont up her meds, they are going with a wait and see approach, dont get it myself as if kaya was having that many her meds would be maxed and a new one added in too

sadly it seems the agressions here to stay, she tried to attack kaya, and yet people still dont get why i cant have my mum and kaya at the same time when im on my own

Respite...is that in-home care, or in a facility?

Hopefully there'll be a way to manage the aggression. I remember my papaw had a lot of violent moments in the beginning stages of dementia, to the point where my mom would get bruises all over her just trying to take care of him.

If you ever need to talk about it, I can slip you my email or IM.

I spent most of the day scrubbing down my new flat. I got the keys on Thursday and walked down from work and just sat there. I was pretty chuffed.

Today, my most beautiful grandmother turned 97 years old. I am blessed to have her as my grandmother and love her more than I can possibly articulate.

I just spent most of the day at the Childrens hospital visiting with my Godson who just came out of his fourth surgery this week. The doctors found an absis under his arm not so long ago, so they did the usual thing and drained it. However they failed to realise that the infection had already travelled into his bones, and he woke last Sunday morning with an arm that was four times the normal size. His arm had been 'opened' up for three days to drain but today they finally closed it up with four anitbiotic tablets inside. The doctors estimate his stay could be as long as three months. He was asking for me,,,, I so wish I could stay with him but he has his Grandmother there permanently by his side for now. I will visit him as much as possible and I told him he could prank call me from his mobile when he needs something or just wants me to call him back. Bless his little heart. He may be thirteen but he still loves his Godmothers care and hugs. :(

shes in a facility, damn its depressing, shes left in a bedroom, no tv, no magazines nothing, shes just left to stare at the walls. they lock themselves in the room with her when she needs anything doing and we were asked to wait outside

they wouldnt let us take her out for the day but let us take her to the garden where she tried to find the way out several times :(

So sorry to hear that, darlin. :(

Hearing all this reminds me of my papaw a lot, as I'm sure you noticed. It was a difficult time for the family. My mom never allowed him to be put in any sort of home, even near the end, but it was really hard on her not to. She had three kids and a drunk husband to take care of, and on top of that my grandpa. Was tough.

Is there a way to get her transferred to somewhere nicer? I don't like this whole idea of you being put outside when they have to do anything. Just doesn't seem right. You should be able to oversee her care.

unfortunatly my older sister has power of attorney and what she says goes, mums there till next friday then shes apparently home for a week then she will be back in there again for a while

i would love to have my mum, i took her for several months just after kaya was released from hospital in 2006 but i just cant give 2 people 1 on 1 care and sadly ive had to make the decision that i cant have mum at my house anymore as i cant phyically keep her and kaya apart, kaya's autistic screeching and flapping sends my mum in a rage :(

is there any reasoning with your sister to get her placed somewhere better than that?

my older sisters always been a female dog.

the reason why she wont allow her into a residential unit is she would lose out on my mums benifits which she admits she uses to pay her morgage and bills

social services are involved now as an outsider has made a report of neglect as my sister leaves my mum locked in the house and my sister goes out all day everyday and often is out overnight.

i know she has a life to lead too but the care that comes in is inadequate and my mum needs 24 hour care to keep safe :(

You should try to take power of attorney over your mom. Your sister has no right to behave like that.

If it helps, I'd totally kick her for you.
