Well, since you don't like logic (no surprise there), I'll put it to you this way: I've never known a White Woman who dated a Black Man that turned out to be secretly gay. I've known White Women who've dated openly bi guys, but never ever a White Woman who has discovered that a Black Man she slept with is gay. I go to the Gay Pride Parade every year -- never make any shocking discoveries. I've only been on this planet for 33 years, but I've met a lot of interracial couple in my time. Most of the people I know are in interracial relationships, and yet and still -- never met a White Woman who used to date a gay Black Man.

I could go on about how the Down Low Brother is an urban legend, created in articles with no sourcing, no statistics, no proof, in order to drum up controversy & sell newspapers, playing upon the eagerness of society to simultaneously emasculate the Black Man while blaming him for everything including AIDS and the breakdown of the Black Family. I could point out that there have been closeted White Men for as long as there as been homophobia and that putting a new name on the closet for Black Men only serves to make up a whole new way to demonize Black Men. I could go further and show that the exact same anti-Black Man hatred and homophobia combined in the fear of Down Low Brothers are the same types of hatred that would encourage more Black Men to stay in the closet. I could finally end with the fact that we STILL have no facts, no statistics, no real numbers when it comes to this supposed "phenomenon".

I could do all that, but I have before and I always get corrected by Black Women who insist to me that the Down Low phenomenon is real, that in fact "all these brothers are on the Down Low." If they are so personally convinced, then they must have personal experience, right? If White Women are usually unaware of, or unworried by, this "Down Low" thing, and Black Women are convinced it's rampant, then it's clearly not White Women who are suffering from it.

But hey, if this is something you have personal experiences with, by all means share. Given that we have no stats or facts I will of course defer to the one who has personal experience with the phenomenon.
