Karl Malden, 97!!, has passed away. I guess we have our 3 celebrities: Billy Mays, Gale Storm, and now Karl Malden. RIP.
Dropping like flies.... Gale Storm sounds familiar but not really. Karl is more likely best known for "Streets of San Fransisco" to those under 40. RIP Still no bigger story than MJ, if you gauge by Cable News Channels...
Nothing is bigger than MJ right now. Karl Malden won a Best Supporting Acting Oscar for his role in A Streetcar Named Desire. He was also in Patton, On the Waterfront, Birdman of Alcatraz, How the West Was Won, Hotel. He's been in a plethora of movies. Gale Storm was in many B movies of the 40s and 50s and had her own TV show in the 50s. She lived a long life, too. 87 when she passed away. I recognized her name when I saw the news, but that's it. She became famous because she won a contest that brought her to Hollywood and gave her a contract with RKO Pictures. I can't believe they had those contests back then. LOL. And she married the male winner of that contest. Very cool!! :smt023
That is sad. Malden was successful in getting Elle Kazan to have the special Oscar for his movie work. Also, he was on the tv show The Street of San Francisco with Micheal Douglas. Plus he was known in the American Express commercials,"Don't Leave Home Without Them". I have not seen a rerun of My Little Margie but I know there is a scene on You Tube,Storm would be missed.
