"I loved playing for the Fighting Illini and appreciate the support I was given by my teammates, coaches and the great fans here," Jordan said. "But I have come to the point where I'm ready to focus on life after basketball. I will concentrate on earning my degree from the University of Illinois and the opportunities that await upon graduating."

Good for him, can't imagine the kind of constant scrutiny and comparisons to his father that this kid had to endure whenever he stepped on a basketball court.

Maybe basketball really isn't his true calling. So what if he doesn't want to play anymore?

For all we know, he might become a great "coach" someday.;)

He probably didn't even like basketball in the 1st place.

I'm wouldn't be suprised if the only reason he played, was to make his dad happy.

Good luck to him finishing his education at the Univ. of Illinois. I don't think the basketball world will mourn the loss of his game.

His son wasn't really good, but his younger song is better (at least he was in HS). I don't know if he is playing college ball.
