You must be referring to all of those left behind "Dixiecrats." The party that Andrew Jackson built (he of The Trail of Tears fame). Lyndon B. Johnson knew that his support of civil rights legislation in 1964/1965 doomed his party with conservative (and Southern) whites for a generation. That is exactly what happened and it was no accident. Why do southern whites that have voted Democrat since the 1820's all of a sudden abandon their party in the late 60's and early 70's??? Texas was more Democratic back then than California and New York together are today. It was a cardinal sin in the deep South not to support Democrats but that changed pretty quickly after integration didn't it?

Shhh, you sound like you've been heavily influenced by the "liberal media". You're not supposed to be stating the facts, you should only be using propaganda as your talking points.

So your against the idea of Strategy in general. America has never actually lost a war, unless you want to argue Vietnam. Why? A dynamic understanding of strategic postioning. It's a yes or no question, to everyone reading this. Do you like the idea of strategy in politics or not. Yes or No.:-?

    LOL!

I do understand the conservative POV when it comes to media. (I've been in the Lone Star State too long) Most people in the media, if you check their backgrounds carefully, come from backgrounds in Democratic politics. That does not mean they are hardcore partisans that think everything liberal is good but those types seem to outnumber the much louder Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, Michael Savage types. Liberal media is broader but the support is not that deep, while conservative media is not as broad but has a much deeper well of followers. Why else would Fox News be at the top in news despite the fact we've got a "liberal" president that was voted in with a sizeable majority??? Where's CNN and MSNBC in the ratings?

I thought Reagan was the worst president of them all.

In general, of course I do; however, that doesn't mean that I have to countenance the demonization of a group of people that I happen to belong in order to gain political capital.
