What?! No Australian robots wrestling crocodiles, guzzling Fosters and saying "G'day Mate!", "Streuth!" or "Fairdinkum!"? Well I certainly won't be seeing this movie! How dare they leave us out of the mix. :smt091 :smt037
There are stereotypes of various ethnicities with regards to whites but there isn't one general one of your average white American Protestant unless you ask Europeans...and they might classify WASPs as loud, insensitive, ignorant and culturally unaware at times...at least some French people would say that most likely....but if mostly whites are making the films..they have little reason to portray themselves too negatively as a single group...outside of being nerdy and "studious" or sometimes as athletic studs that are jerks....doesn't quite have the same effect does it?
How do you know which post you get positive rep for?I only figured out how to see my current rep points but not how to see which post I got them for.Lol
Go to user cp then "latest reputation received" it should tell you which exact post you got rep for, and who left it if they choose to leave a signature.
Does a red spot in the rep listings mean they gave me negative rep?Cos I got a red one for one of my pics.Lol
I bet you sound cute saying that though on the real. Unless you one of them deep voice girls, sounding like you can bench 450
Oh that's ok.Lol It's not like my life depends on it . I just would never give someone a bad rating because I don't like their personal pictures
Did anyone mention the biblical imagery in the movie? Sorry, didnt read the whole thread, but it is definitely biblical. The ultimate enemy is "the fallen", who was cast out after disobedience and has a group of evil minions to do his bidding. Straight old testament satan. He reeks havoc on earth until the "savior" is resurected from the dead (think Jesus). And the magical spark imagery is none other than the Holy Ghost. Old story, new twists.
I just saw the movie for the first time today, and i have to admit that the twins were very over the top, especially with them not being able to read. But, just like this article says, this movie was filled with racial stereotypes, not just stereotypes of blacks. I guess if the director is going to go over the top with stereotypes, at least he didn't forget to offend everybody in the process, not just blacks.
Oh, and the movie rating system needs to be completely revamped IMO. This movie had a pg rating, but it was more like rated-r. For adults the film is okay, and possibly for teens, but the transformers franchise is supposed to be for kids, and this was not a kids movie. Go figure.
