I don't watch the show myself but so far I doubt it. Maybe in the future they might imitate the big screen.;)

Well she is a television star, for some reason with the exception
of NBC, there is not much problem with mainstream t.v. actresses be involved in interracial with
    black men.

    - Maxim's sexiest woman alive Olivia Wilde has an IR romance
going on with Omar Epps on "House"(as we all know.)

    - Emmy Winner Julia Louis-Dreyfuss on her show with Blair Underwood.

    - Judging Amy had an Interracial love interest on her show.

    - Rebecca Romijn & Henry Simmons on her short series.

    - Nicolette Sheridan went on to have an IR kiss in
the movie The Cleaner with Cedric the Entertainer

    - Amanda Bynes went to have an IR kiss and relationship
    in the hairspray

    - Courtney Cox Arquette went on to have an IR sex scene
in The movie November with Michael Ealy.

Yeah, 1)but the powers that be won't go for it, 2)they don't want to alienate the BW audience and 3)some of the white boys in the audience may feel insecure and uneasy.

The TOP 3 reasons that are always echoed as an excuse in
hollyweird. None of them reasons credible, but the number one reason makes it credible, because they run the show.

Yeah I call it a protection & distraction from what they won't allow with
mainstream film actresses. SO if someone yell out they racist, they
could shove that in your face and keep on walking.

There were so many things wrong about "Hancock" that the non-relationship may have been the very least of them. Still its funny (and I just got around to seeing the film) that TPTB made sure to have Theron's character stress just how much she loved her husband. If all three principals were of the same race I'm sure she would have been portrayed as being a bit more uncertain.

But seriously the concept for the film was great and the first half was outstanding. How the screenwriter or the director could not see that the second half was so weak is beyond me. They had an almost perfect movie setup going and they let it fizzle out.

As for this Ferrera flick I was waiting to see who would be cast as the groom. I'm not impressed with the choice. First of all this guy is tainted by Tyler Perry as far as I'm concerned. He is a regular on one of his awful shows. Second of all, how can I put this, why must like every young black star that gets work look alike? Or at least that's how it seems. Same complexion, same boring short crop haircut, same mustache fuzz. Maybe I'm exaggerating. However its the hairstyle that really trips me out. I see black dudes with so many various hiarstyles every day. But in Hollywood, a place where people who love looking at themselves in a mirror go to, somehow the only black guys they can find wear their hair very short or cut it all off. There is barely any diversity. Then again....its the same thing for the black actors that are used in porn too. WTF.

Ah, the waves/bald head/goatee...safe, simple, timeless.

I'd like to see brothers with slicked hair, flat tops, long hair/ponytails, braids, curls, or even a 'fro. How about a full mustache (Tom Selleck-style) or full beard(Chuck Norris-style)

Though it is nice to see Dark Skinned (I'm one) bros getting roles, there is a lack of diversity complexion wise. But it seems back in the 80s, it was all about the pretty high yella bros.

Indeed. Although I don't ever recall black males ever being mostly represented by very light skinned dudes. That would be just as much of a problem for me too because it would not reflect our diversity in terms of how we look and how we present ourselves.

There is only one thing. In Hancock...the lead female caracter was married. it would have been unetical if they did something nasty. That would be cheating and that doesent fit right with a superhero.

They did that first with FF7 for Barrett. Now, they finally decide on a new mainstream black character for the series.
