really? in Australia? mmm, they paint a rosy picture here of everywhere but the USA, so we never know that other countries(except 3rd world ones) have social problems.

wow it is sad all around. I work with the homeless and poor in urban US cities, omg, it is incredible the obstacles, the horrors and the struggles I see people put themselves in and what they suffer. And what troubles and hardships they bring children into.

May I ask, do you see enough Blacks(Africans or American) there to date Interracially? Was always curious about that.

My work is intensely frustrating and stressful almost every day, so I have cultivated a zen attitude to everything where nothing annoys me any longer.

However, I can still be occasionally riled by

    - broken public transport (like, every day in London)
    - tourists walking slowly
    - rudeness

When parents try to act what they think is "cool". Even worse when they know they are lame, and intentionally try to be funny by acting what they think is "cool".

    ...like parents on facebook? :p
I'm so glad that my parents are computer illiterate. My friends 50something parents keep commenting on her pictures, haha. Glad that mine don't see me all 'WAAAHAAAYYY! DRUNK :partyman:'

I don't mean that all parents are lame, because all my friend's parents are hella cool, actually. I was talking about the ones who think they are "cool" rather than being themselves, and being chill. A couple days ago, when I told my mom I found a job, she held out her knuckle as if to do the knuckle touch, while saying "is this how you guys do it?" Also, last week, when I took my Bone Thugs cd out of the cd player, because it was skipping and scratched, she thought I took it out just because I didn't want her to listen to it, and she said "don't be hatin'. Is that what you guys say today?" :-| Then earlier this morning, I was making a beat, and my mom overheard it, and she came in doin' "the wop" or some shit. It was one of those "smack you forehead in embarrassment" moments.

I thought the cool thing people to do was to be themselves. :smt036

The "cool" parents are the ones you can talk shit with and laugh about other shit that won't make them uptight about things.

Same here. I'd be MEGA awkward for my mom to be up on facebook. Luckily she can't even do simple shit like use ebay.:D I never post the drinking pics of my friends on my myspace, because I don't want an employer looking at that. If my mom knew about my myspace, I'd have to take down the pics of middle fingers and burning couches.:smt028

Lil' Bro, in many (most) cases, the "cool" parents are often any but your own. I have a great time with my teens, but my priority not trying to be popular. Your moms might be the same way.

I would think that if she wasn't worried about being cool, she wouldn't say the corny stuff she does at times. She thinks that ALL kids use the same slang. I understand what you're talking about though. Also, my mom is still in her "dress like I'm young" phase though. God.....damn.

My dad is cool though. He acts like himself, and has his own lingo. Hell, I even bite some of my dad's lingo for my own use.

"Ain't no punk in my blood."

"Don't get ya butt whooped and your money took."

"Ain't a horse that can't be rode, and a punk that can't be throwed."

"Don't mess around with me. Start up with me, and you can cancel Christmas, punk."

Ahhh, I love it. Cracks me up.:smt080
