If both parties want to be adventurous outside of monogamy, then they must also agree to avoid people for whom the potential for longterm feelings is either nil to nonexistent. Loosely translated, that means only sleeping with people who are hot, not emotionally appealing. Otherwise, once actual feelings begin to develop for other people, the relationship is doomed.

Furthermore, you should explain to other people you pursue that you are in an open relationship, so they can be fully aware of the facts before proceeding.

Ok. Do you think two people in an open relationship can really be in love with each other while they are having sexual relations with others? Do you think either of the two should be looked down upon and maybe thought of as someone who doesn't love or respect themselves by knowingly being involved in an "open relationship?"

Well that's why I mentioned the risk of developing feelings for others, because once a couple decides to date outside the relationship, they're putting the relationship itself in a precarious position. To be honest, I don't think most people can successfully compartmentalize their feelings to where they'd be fine with their spouse/gf/bf dating others. And to reiterate, what about the third person in that it's certainly possible, if not likely, that you'd develop strong feelings for them or vice-versa?

With regard to stranger's judgment's, I never care enough to make them a part of my decision-making process.

Oh. We have millions of rabbits - that's the problem.
They're illegal as pets in my state.
Because, of course, the rabbits know not to cross the boundary of NSW into Qld - they're very smart like that.

No. The first rabbit I ever saw was in December at a family member's house in England. Then, my friend in Germany had one too. I was in love. They are so cute. You can keep rabbits in the next State from me - just not in mine.

Saty would be so happy to know that his "advice thread" has gone from the meaning of life to the illegality of keeping rabbits in Queensland. haha. Talk about a hijak!
