What have you always wanted to do?

Something I said in chat just now sparked this thread.

I said I've always wanted to take Physics, but for some reason or another (scheduling conflicts and such), I've never done it. I'm a bit of a science nerd - I enjoy Chemistry.

I've also always wanted to learn to play the violin.

What have you always wanted to do? And why haven't you done it? Do you plan on doing it someday? What has stopped you from achieving it before now?

This is a very timely thread, Bookie. I have so many things in my mind that if I did half of them, I'd never work again and I'd spend the rest of my life in classes of some sort or another. I did chemistry and physics at school. Can't say I'm sad that I've never studied either since.

I always wanted to learn violin also. I have one here that belonged to my great grandfather and I always intend to get it fixed. That will occur sooner rather than later.

I also enjoy the guitar and hope to get enough skills on that to write some dodgy tunes and songs. Actually - I am building a guitar. So - finishing that would be good, also.

I want to paint a little and express some concepts through art instead of text, which is my preferred method, due to the ease of access during work hours (typing on a computer is less conspicuous than a note book and/or easel.! :D)

I want to write a book.
I would like to improve my vocab, spelling and grammar.

*this is my "to do" list for the remainder of the year! :D

I have a very long list but a few of my top ones:

Learn to play the guitar and the piano. I can play a number of instruments but for some reason not the two I want to play

I want to learn Spanish or Italian....

I want to go on an epic hike/cycle/motorbike/jeep journey. Drive from France to Vietnam and stop all along the way and climb things, bike places and eat a lot of food. Get to Vietnam and sell the jeep and ride from North to South on an old Russian Minsk motorbike.

The jeep journey sounds like fun. Maybe you can bring the guitar with you and learn along the way

I think I've been pretty good at doing what I want, reaching goals, fulfilling dreams, but I would love to be a sports photographer and it's likely something I'll never do. Not sure why, but I just can't envision myself actually doing it. I still dream about it, though.

I want to travel around Brazil, all of Latin America if possible.

I want to learn more about my family because we hardly know anything about them before my grandad. I think it'll be too difficult though because apparently their records got destroyed during the revolution.

I'm quite interested in writing a book too, I have been for a long time. I'm a pretty good writer but since coming to uni I've not had the time, so in the future I really hope to get the motivation back.

And I want to fly business class at least once. I'm always stuck in economy

I could! I could learn folk songs from all the coutries I visit and drive people nuts while i try to strum them.

I often travel alone but this trip would def require a travel companion. Not a solo ride.

I've always wanted to sing. I'm not bad, but I've never had any training. I have a shyness that I can't seem to shake when it comes to performing. I've done some karaoke singing, but I was 3 sheets to the wind, so not exactly sure how great I was... Now, I look at it as more of a hobby. I sing for my nieces and my family. I do not plan to pursue a career in singing.

    Very cool!!

I totally forgot about languages. LOL. It was late when I started this thread.

I've always wanted to learn German. I took French for many years through Jr. High, HS, some college. Can't remember much of it. I haven't pursued it because it seems pointless to if you aren't around another speaker to keep your brain refreshed about it.

    Who knows, maybe someday. :D

There is nothing like the mix of emotions you feel after completing a marathon. I'd recommend it to anyone who is healthy enough for that grueling of a task.

    It's a great feeling! :smt023

I've always wanted to live like it was the second semester of 12 grade again, before hella cops were around.

I've always wanted to move out, but I have no money yet.

Me and my cousin have always wanted to go to the UK. I remember he said there were hella skate parks there. But this was years ago, when we were 12 n' shit. We still want to go though.

Always wanted to play the piano. Wish I woulda stuck with music. If only I didn't change schools. Now, I can't play any instruments anymore.

Always wanted to catch a duck or while camping.

I have always wanted to go into outter space. As a kid, I dreamed of becoming an astronaut, now I envy the space tourists. Too poor for that dream though...

Always wanted to get my LTA rating (hot air balloon pilot), it just isnt a solo hobby though, needs too much ground support...
