No. Because I've been to Austin, and I have a mate from Louisville who didn't exactly sell the idea to me.
I have nothing against the south? Do I appear as though I would?
Of all the cities in the world...you pick them?
San Antonio is much better than Austin. IMO

This is the key phrase right here FEHG. To each his own.

Which is why, if you notice, I always add it to subjective comments. :)
I still worry about you. :D

How long were you there and what did you do?

Couple of days. I hung out, saw the sights. The usual.
Don't know anyone there...but, I didn't in San Antonio either.
    I came, I saw..that's how I do my thing.
I would actually move to San Antonio, which is more than I can say for the vast majority of the rest of the USA, and I never thought I would say that about a city in Texas. :)

But, indeed you're right - to each his/her own.
    Send me to NYC.

    Hmmm...I see

I attended University in Austin so I know it well (and I'm biased). I have gone back many times over the years (after living in many other parts of the world) and always love it for the weather, the live music, the culture, the food, the people. I visited SA a lot during that time as well. It's different, different flavor. My daughter is a University student there now.

You just had to go there with the America-bashing, didn't you? You're not fooling me though because I saw in another thread that you are counting down the days until you move there.

You know you want to be an American.

Ah! Sir Nose. You read what you want to read. I say every time that I don't want to be here....That doesn't mean I want to be there. If I can get a job in the USA (unlikely), then cool...Otherwise, I'll try Canada, the UK, Africa...wherever.

I don't dislike the USA, but unlike many people, I also don't believe it's God's gift to the human race. Nothing is entirely good or bad. I would be a fool to think of an entire country in such limited terms (good or bad).

I'm re-patriating to the land I love in a couple of months. Please look me up when you arrive- I would like to be at your citizenship swearing-in ceremony. :D

...and you would be a GREAT addition to the USA. You could make it an even better place.

Well, best of luck with the move. Where are you headed to?

I will never give up my Australian citizenship. My country irritates me many days - but it will always be home. And, I will love it like I do my annoying younger brother.

Your country wouldn't have me, Sir Nose.

And, I am having enough trouble battling my own government to make improvements. I wouldn't even waste my time with yours! ;)

PS - thanks for the (what I think was a) compliment.

Awww, I'm late to the party. I absolutely love Austin and would move there in a hot second. San Antonio is nice too as far as Texas is concerned. I was a little less thrilled with Houston and Dallas, however.

Louisville... well, if you say so.

Next time you're throwing darts at a map of the USA, if you hit bullseye, that's where I'm headed.
