Your death

Just catching the bus home tonight, and this thought popped in my mind...(don't ask me why, because my day was relatively good )

Your death. If you could plan your death, what would you want? Would you choose a time? Or let nature takes its course? Do you want control over that moment? Where would you go?

I envisage many scenes, but the following stays in my mind.
Since I probably won't have children, I will be alone. I want to be in a beautiful space. A song for all time will be in my mind. Close my eyes with the last scene being intense natural beauty. I would like to be in a remote space, so they can't ever find me and take me anywhere. I would like to know when it is, and for it to be quick.

 

Sleeping, and died quickly.

Shot, if I had to choose a quick way.

Dying in any quick and painless way, or at least quick enough to not feel the pain will do it for me. Bullets are quick, but I'd prefer something not so violent, but whatever is quick works for me.

 

I don't want to know when or how I will die, I don't want to be waiting around for it to happen.

However I die I want to die before I become compeletely dependant on others. I hate the thought of being in a nursing home unable to control my bodily functions and having to be force fed. Urgh.

I know you didn't really bring it up but once I'm dead I'll donate my organs and stuff I no longer need. I don't want to be burried or cremated, ideally, I'd like to donate my body to a "body farm" type place and lie in a body of water or a field and decompose naturally or it would be pretty cool to donate my body to that German artist/mortician who does the dodgy art with bodies.

 

For real. I'm gonna apply Maddox's idea of old age: "If you can't control your own shit, then you are to old to live". May not be the case with other people, but I don't want to live when I'm spilling shit everywhere. It's an inconvenience. Time to make room for the younger reneration. All I'd be doing is running up tax money, and fucking up the nurse's day with funky shit pans that need changing.

For sure. If I'm existing and not living...I don't want to keep breathing.
As soon as I was old enough, I put my name on the national register to donate all my organs. In fact, my mother had done that since I was a child.
I would like to decompose in the same way I lived - away from people in my own way! Dust to Dust and all that.

 

I would like to know just a wee bit before hand. Even just a day.

I would call everyone I loved and tell them how important they were to me, how much they impacted/influenced my life, and why.

I would get all dressed up, go have a seriously kick ass dinner with lots or oysters. Drink a bottle of champagne and maybe have a a big fat cigar.

I would go for one last skinny dip, go home, surround myself with photos of my family and friends and wait for it to come.

 

The promise is clear;……If you make a minimal spiritual investment in this life, death is merely a door into a great next life !....But I do agree with you, It would be nice to have someone hold your hand for that slow walk to that door.

 

Nah I don't want to know when I die or how it happens, as I'm a natural worrier and would bite my nails for the next twenty years and more than likely end up with some kind of serious mental disorder from the stress.

Imagine Clear Rivers or whatever her name is in Final Destination 2, locking herself up in a cell, that's me. lol

I do not want to die in any ridiculous way, having a heart attack while i'm pulling up my knickers is a NO! or if i'm doing a job and it's unfinished because i've dropped dead:smt093 I want to fall off the ladder once i have finished putting the last piece of wallpaper up.

Oh and Cancer I really do not want to die of Cancer, it's not the agony it can cause, it's the pressure on the family of a long drawn out death.

So I vote for a quick death while listening to the Weather Girls sing it's Raining Men.

 

I didn't state my opinion on whether death is the beginning or the end...only how I would like it to be when it happens.

EDIT: I also didn't say that I was sad about being alone. In fact, I feel nothing either way.

 

1. During climax after having a tremedous sexual encounter at age 99 or,
2. Defending to the death someone or something you love or,
3. On a death bed at home surrounded by wife, siblings, closest friends, kids, grandkids, great-grand kids.

 

I want to be realllllly old and die in my sleep, pain free. Death scares the hell out of me!! By far I think the worst way to go would be a plane crash =(

OR

- Plunging into the heart of the sun with my hands around Darkseid's granite throat!

OR

- At the heart of a nuclear explosion (see if it's EMP can disrupt my soul)!

OR

- Via seppuku.

 

When I'm well over 100 years old, falling from the absolutely highest peak I can climb so at last I'll feel like I'm flying.

 

And then getting blown the fuck up in a hospital.
