Are Israel really going to rebel, and not listen to their parents? Its going to be interesting to see what action the USA takes if Israel go ahead and continue to expand their settlements in the West Bank. Read this:

This is a new in foreign policy towards Israel. Usually the government bends over the table for Israel.

I don't like the idea of America dictating terms to other nations, be they Israel, Iran, China, or any nation. But at the same time, we shouldn't giving aid to any nations.

I think Israel and the Palestinians need to work these problems out themselves.

I think the Israelis are shooting themselves in the foot here. For the sake of a few families, they are risking the wrath of their main ally. Wonder if the Bush administration would have taken such a stance. I am not convinced they would have. With Obama, I think we are definately going to see a more sympathetic stance towards the Palestinians.

a fair and equitable peace process needs to take place sooner rather than later.. there is no military solution, for any 'side'.. the only profits will be for those who make & sell weapons.. right-wing ideology needs to be taken out of the equation.. that includes right-wing islam, as well as right-wing judaism and right wing christianity...

    :smt084

the USA gov't needs to divest from middle-eastern ethnic squabbles and reinvest domestically..

The most entrenched lobby for Israel, without any doubt, is Washington D.C. They make the Knesset seem like Black September with all their bending over backwards to accomodate Israel.

yes if we stop givign aid to one government we dont like, then stop giving it across the board. that means to the Palestinians who get Billions from us as well. dont give aid to african countries or refugee camps etc. Yeah, then we just become isolationists who refuse to be benevolent. We should support Israel adn not dictate to them how to settle their lands or waste time on peace talks when we dont have peace talks with other countries at war with each other now. where is obama dictating to Mugabe, what happened to Darfur, we have abandoned that effort(bbc this AM),we are not stepping into ethnic fights all over the world but we want to control Israel. NO WAY!!!

I agree with you tuck. I'm always been favor of nonintervention. I don't think we should tell any country what to do, or give out aid to any country, regardless of who it is.

Let me get this right: Are you also saying if you have the misfortune of being born in a dirt poor third world country, which is frequently ravished by natural disasters, the USA should not at least offer aid? No one chooses where they are born. Some countries drew the short straw in terms of resources and cant really look after their citizens when natural disasters strike. America is not obligated to help, but I think any decent human would agree that world powers should assist when natural disasters strike in countries who cant help themselves.

Yes agreed. And to add to that "Third World" debt should be erased off the books. Read The Bottom Billion.

In a natural disaster, I can see giving some aid, but that would be the only circumstance.

The American people do help people out in other countries, and not just in disasters. There are many charities to which Americans give their time and money to help out the less fortunate in the Third World, and people should continue to give.

I dont want to offend anyone but if you noticed, most of the people on that video were American. They were also young, clearly quite stupid and rather intoxicated. I loved the girl who was a political science major and knew her shit.
That video was shot in a "backpacker" area of Jerusalem. Lots of Ameican jews hang out there on their first trip to Israel or over there to visit family. They hang in that area because it is full of foreigners (well, thats silly) and after a few drinks and some weed they suddenly become Israeli Warriors. Being a Jew and being an Israeli are two totally different things. However giving these youngins a few fews beers and they don't know the difference. If their parents saw this video they would be shocked and ashamed.
