I will try DH that is for sure. I will be in the states, but sadly I don't think Texas is in my plans. I will probably only be in the states for one or two days. Beer and bbq will have to wait till Canada.
I'll ship you some, then. I've got some culinary friends who can cook some amazing ribs. It goes great with Shiner Black, a pretty damn good Texan beer. It's a dark lager, a little spicy. One of my favorites, and I can't find it when I go home to visit. >.<
Hey. Did you just move? I'm sure I remember you being over here when you were previously posting? What are you doing, and how's life treating you? Did you get over on the E3 Visa? I haven't been to Cairns for years - too hot for me - but, it's winter, so the perfect time. I hope to get out and do some diving
Head up north and go on a tour. They are certified...that's what I did last time I was up there. If you want to go - that's pretty much your only choice, unless you know someone. But, I wouldn't suggest waiting, as someone might never come along!
Well I am in Israel! Yahoo!!!!!!!!!! God, I forgot how much I love it here. Tel Aviv is just bustling, all kinds of action on the streets and in the souqs. It even smells good here! ( Bookie, it smells like falafel heaven!) I am going for dinner with a friend I did some development work in Laos with. He is married nw so I am going to meet his wife and new baby YEAH! Damn I love this place Shalom people!
Yeah I came to America at the beginning of Feb, just on the VWP and got married in April, going through the early stages of the change of status process at the moment... which is not proving easy due to the fact I have no real record of my immunization history, so I must get ALL my vaccinations again! Anyway it is sure to be a lengthy process I am sure. It has been a bit more of a culture shock moving here than I expected, but I am settling in OK. Mainly having trouble adjusting to the different way people interact and socialize with each other here, as opposed to home. I am no where near as social as these people! Plus it doesn't help that I left one of the best places to live in the world (and one of the best jobs!!)! Be sure and get your diving in, I get terribly sea sick each and every time I go to the outer reef, so I prefer to snorkel off the islands. Though it is not nearly as special an experience. Next time I am going to take a sea plane to some isolated sand cays, I think that would be great. I have heard good reports about the dive company Passions of Paradise but I prefer to go out with Quicksilver as they are a more reputed and well established company, though the groups are much larger than you'll find than with a smaller company like Passions. I also highly recommend doing this tour www.unclebrian.com.au/ one of the funnest times I have had and the things you'll see are as amazing as the reef. A very unique experience!
