Well it sounds like you have some time to read. Maybe your technique will be honed to perfection through study for some lucky unsuspecting individual when you repatriate.

Was the chandelier part when she was trashing this critic's apartment? Yup, I guess it'd be hard to understand what's going on when you haven't read the book...I haven't seen the play but a tv series a few years ago and it was just like that.

Have you any idea, what happened to Hella, because she kind of disappears at one point?

You know the answer.....it's gooood :D

I honestly cant remember, but you must be right.
All I know was that it was VERY unconventional as it was in the Royal Theatre where they at the time only really did classic pieces so ther was a big "OHHHHHH,AHHHHH..Shriek" when they released that huge chandelier over the audience...

That book is almost like reading Dostojevski, you nead a freaking flow chart to remember the characters:)
I think I go read "The Idiot" by him next, also one of my favorites - or do you have something to recommend??

Lol! As I said, I have NO interest in doing any hands on research any time soon. The book is packed away in a storage locker with the rest of my life. Could not bring it here......it is porn and folks around here don't like that.

I will pass it along to a needy friend when I return home so she can hone her technique.

Just doing my part to make the world a better place ;)

Yeaa, it is a bit like Dostoevsky even the atmosphere....
I'd recommend "Recovered, not cured" by Richard McLean...it's nothing like the old classics, because he wrote it about his experiences about how he lived with scizophrenia for years and nobody actually understood what was going on with him, I think it's a really good book and creepy, too. And there's a lot of his art, drawing etc in this book and they're really good and crazy...I finished it in about 3 evenings. If you feel like reading something different for a change, try this!

This guy was sooo messed up during these years and there even was a moment when he said to his mom something like that:"I can't sleep in my room anymore, the voices are screaming too loud." Mom:"Ok, sleep on the couch then."

    Are you Swedish?

The Abstinence Teacher by Tom Perrotta
The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle
Pedagogy of the Oppressed by Paulo Friere

I found the book Mandingo in my mom's library. Has anyone every read it? It looks like crap...

Okay, I ain't gonna lie, I had to look this one up:

    pedagogy
–noun, plural -gies. 1. the function or work of a teacher; teaching

In the process I found out that it was written by a Portuguese author. Cool. I'm not sure if I will read this one but I will check out what else Friere has written. Thanks CSbean.

It's a great book. There are many interesting philosophies regarding oppressors within a culture educating the oppressed. I'd often feel guilty reading it and thinking about the curriculum I must teach my students.

    last 3 books

I love to read so had to answer this.

    1. Marley & Me-John Grogan

    2. Tramp for the Lord-Corrie Ten Boom

    3. 'Tis-Frank McCourt

    hmmm...can you tell I like non-fiction? haha

Yes I can, and I'm just the opposite, I prefer non-fiction. What is '" 'Tis " about? Maybe the shortest title ever for a book? (other than, "W")

It's Tis a memoir by Frank Mc court, great book, follow up from Angelas Ashes, love the film and the books, surprised you haven't heard of it, won quite a few prizes.

The reality of Ireland, basicaly franks childhood, fathers drinking the money away and silverfish living in the walls, Tis is the follow up of him in his teens going to America and such.

If you get it make sure you read Angelas Ashes first which is by far the superior out of the 2.
