You're comparing the termination of an egg,to the termination of a fetus.

do we have any stats from planned parenthood on birth control? do bw get pregnant more often resulting in higher percentages of abortions due to the lack of birth control use? what about the morning after pill? is that also included in these statistics?

if what is being presented were true, just for a moment let's entertain the idea...it's a woman's right to choose if she wants an abortion...i don't see any conspiracy theory in a woman's choice to abort...after a certain number of weeks the water gets pretty muddy..i believe the current standard is not over 16 weeks...

I thought the conversation was about genocide. If it is genocide, then these distinctions don't matter, all that matters is how many babies are being born, which means condoms are at least as destructive to the overall cause as abortion.

*pssst* I don't think the girls who attend the high school I work in have caught wind of this "abortion" thing you speak of.

Its as simple as this -- its true that statistically BW have the highest rate of abortions in the USA but its not a "conspiracy". It is up to a woman and personal accountability whether or not she decides to have self control/use birth control etc. Don't take the blame off of promiscuous irresponsable women and put it in a conspiracy.

Its like the liquor on every corner in a bad neighborhood argument -- just because there is a liquor store near you doesnt mean you have to drink your life away.

So what is your point Malikom

Overturning Roe vs. Wade and putting a permanent ban on abortions will NOT, I repeat NOT solve the problem. By doing that, we would set this country back so many years and the number of illegal and unsafe abortion clinics would be on the rise. Not to mention that many would go to either Canada or Mexico for an abortion, thus making the whole problem worse.

If we would put our resources into properly educating these teens on birth control and contraception, we would then drastically reduce the number of unwanted pregnancies.

As far as the whole for or against abortion issue is concerned, I’m kind of on the fence because I’ve heard stories and can understand why one would choose to have an abortion.

However, I do believe that there should be more regulations and sanctions protecting unborn children.

Why are so many sistas having unprotected sex in the first place? If you and your boyfriend can't afford to buy condoms/birth control pills, you can not afford a child. If your boyfriend says "the condoms don't fit right"...well they have Magnum's and Magnum XL's for the anaconda-sized bruhs...and they probably have smaller ones for smaller dudes....no excuse there.

Are they having unprotected sex by themselves, are the "sistas" black men not counted as having unprotected sex? I could've sworn it takes two to tangle, or maybe its just me.:smt018

I'm amused that everyone on this forum seems to think that unplanned pregnancies are always as a result of unprotected sex. But any hoo -

I was going to write something but since the whole thread is ridiculous, I can't be bothered. Tony Soprano and lipstick - you both speak sense.

How so? The question could've been reversed, why are all these brothas having unprotected sex? Both individuals involved (the sista & the brotha) are participating in unprotected sex, not just the female.

because at the end of the day the woman is the one carrying the seed.

An irresponsible man is just as worthless as an irresponsible woman-- but at the end of the day the woman is the one that has to watch out for herself.

Basic logic right here for you my friend --

    1. Std's are more easily transferred from male to female than from female to male.

    2. The woman is the one that will have to endure the actual labor of carrying the child.

Lets face it -- its not like it wasn't bums that the majority of these single mothers and women getting abortions were screwing in the first place -- If he was a bum before hand don't be surprised that he is irresonsible and doesnt want to use condoms and won't stick around in the end.
