If ya like somebody or not, wishing Death on somebody, totally classless. Wanda showed how low of a person she is, wishing death on somebody. And I hope our president was giving a curtosy smile when he laghed at the joke.

I think you guys all missed the point,……Limbuagh has a large predominantly white audience. When sister Sykes says some below-the-belt mean spirited shit like this,….it just confirms the contention that there is a double standard,...and that black comics always get a free pass and can say any damn thing…….You can rest assure that many of those folks will take it personally with some choice words behind close doors for her black-ass!

True. Blacks will get shitty ass butt-hurt over a black joke if a white person makes one. I like George Lopez and Ralphie May because they will crack on black people too, along with other races, and don't give a damn. I remember Ralphie was talking about the DC sniper, and he was like "HAHAHAHA How's THAT feel muthafucka? He wasn't white", and I could see a black person get a shitty look on their face after that. Funny how blacks can talk about Dahmer or Gacy and say that's "white folk shit", but whites can't do the same.

So it's all on black folks now huh? And since when did this become a racial issue anyway?! I mean even though I'm not a fan of hers she just cracked on Rush's drug addicted fat gay ass & NOT all white men as a whole. Plus he's the one that has made racial cracks/jabs first at black folks and at Obama in particular like some white entertainers have done. They usually start the racial crap first so it's not just black folks.

I hate to break this to you, but the vast majority of Limbaugh's audience, the dittoheads, are going to have choice words for black people en masse no matter what Wanda Sykes or any other black person says or doesn't say. Anyone who thinks that the kidney joke was offensive and out of bounds should take some time to listen to the tripe that's spewed forth by Limbaugh and the other right wingers in the media on a daily basis. Here's a little taste:

I'm sorry, but I'm not about to be put on the defensive because a bunch of loathsome half-wits who foment bigotry and hyper-partisanship over the airwaves for a living want to feign outrage because they were ridiculed for a few minutes by a second rate comedienne. I also find it troubling that some here have expressed the notion that Sykes, as if she were somehow acting as proxy for the entire black race during her routine on Saturday, reinforced the notion that black people can dish out criticism but not take it turn when the people who are crying fowl about what she said are guilty themselves of that exact type of hypocrisy. Sorry, I'm not buying it.

I never thought I'd actually defend Ms. Sykes, but this "controversy" is much ado about absolutely nothing.

Never said it was all on black folks, now did I? I was agreeing with Archman on the double standard part about how blacks won't catch as much shit, if the catch any at all, for making white jokes, while whites will catch hella heat from doing the same thing. That is all. I'm not thinking about Rush Whoeverthefuck. I'm speaking strictly on what Archman said. And who gives a fuck who started it first? I was never talking about that in the first place.

I'm not running interference for anyone. I simply said that I thought Sykes joke about hoping Limbaugh's kidneys fail was out of line. She could have got her point across without saying that

Well, considering the fact that Sykes didn't make any racial jokes at the expense of the Conservatives that she referenced, I really don't see what the point that you and Archman have attempted to make has to do with the issue at hand.

Well, I do, and so should anyone else who's interested in proffering informed commentary on this topic.

You're younger, so I'll assume that don't take much of an interest in politics. If you did, you'd know that the jokes that she made about certain high profile Conservatives are mild compared to what they say on daily basis. The fact is that they dish out a ton of vitriol with impunity. When they get called on it, they turn around and play the victim while demanding apologies, which is the same type of behavior that you're calling out black people for engaging in.

I wasn't making a point from the topic. Just that one thing Archman said was the only thing I was trying to support. I wouldn't have brought it up for no reason. I just supported what Archman said. So, it was kinda off topic, but I was never trying to make a point outside the double standard part, if I'm making much sense.

And yeah, you're right. Politics aren't my thing, so I won't know much about conservatives, liberals, etc.

Well, I certainly won't argue about the existence of the phenomenon that you're describing in certain contexts. I just don't think it has anything to do with this discussion.

Some of y'all take shit way too personal. She didn't wish for Rush Limbaugh to die, she just wished for his kidneys to fail. He wished for ALL OF US to fail. And who even knows or cares if she really meant what she said, she's a comedian so it was obviously a "joke".

Her job was to get up there, tell jokes, and make people laugh. If her whole routine had bombed, she would be a laughing-stock herself all over the media and y'all would be clowning her in a thread just like this one.

Although I didn't hear none of y'all saying that she lied about anything did I?:smt009

Concerning your double standard comment, if this were the 70's & 80's and Richard Pryor were still alive then we could say that but since black folks are equal now according to white folks, white entertainers have been pushing back with their on jokes/statements for a while now. Besides that who still ownes 99% of the entertainment industry anyway which includes the venues, studios, stations, companies...etc?:smt028 That standard has not changed much at all.
