Oh, DH this is so unfair. Insult to injury. I'm sorry you have to deal with this. :(

They should have given you a temporary card so you could see a doctor. Did they? If they did and you have it that will help your case. You have the right to appeal any decision they make. Especially if they messed up the paper work. You don't need a lawyer. Go talk to the person you first had contact with if you can. The most important thing is not to give up. Keep asking /calling and telling what happened (why you weren't covered in the first place); that is your best bet for results. If no one will help you tell them you want to appeal the decision they made they will tell you what to do. Ask to talk to a supervisor. The people in the office should want to help you if they can. Also the info on how to appeal should be in the paperwork that they gave to you; the copies of forms and papers stating your rights. Hope this helps. Remember you have a right to the coverage as an american citizen!

The people I've dealt with in the office seem to have little drive to help me at all. They treat me like I'm a piece of crap asking for a handout I don't deserve, and they act like it's their own damn paychecks they'd be handing me. Serious.

That really sucks! Have you had any luck at all getting it sorted out? Are there any state run womens centers where you are? They may be able to help too. Is there a WIC office you can go to? They may be able to advocate for you. Wade through the BS!

I've been thinking a lot about this, DH. What happened? Did you manage to sort it out?

    How are you, btw?
