Dating someone from a different socio-economic background

It has been said that it is the differences that attract us most. That "something new".

 

It doesn't matter where someone is from, but where they're going. If it's more-or-less the same as yourself then their background matters not.

 

where a man has come from...what he learned along the way...shape who he is today...when we meet it will about where we are going and how are we going to get there...at this point in my life material things mean less and keeping up with the jones is a vicious cycle...all i want to do right now is work and save so that when it comes time for retirement i (we) can buy that little house on the beach in costa rica and just enjoy each other...

 

Just as my past has shaped who I am today, so has his...

I don't care where he came from, if he doesn't care where I came from. There is one exception: if he has record, I won't date him. That kind of past is a no-no for me.

 

lol...yep, that was always my exception as well...then i met magic...i bent the rules a little on that one...the funny thing is that he came from a good family...went to private schools...graduated from college...the guy is pretty much a genius...a little too smart for his own good...he ofcourse hacked into my heart before i found out...amazing what a person is willing to do for someone they love

I want to be with someone who loves what they do and if they don't they must have a plan to fix it. I don't care if they have more or less formal education than myself but they must be intensely curious about the world around them and be willing to explore it with me.

I definitely do not want someone who is living unconsciously. So "class" and status make no difference to me, it's their attitude and inherent intellect that attracts.

 

And sometimes you just don't find those things out until your heart is too involved...

 

And why does this have to go and happen anyway? I know there's no answer but I still want to know!

 

I don't really a give a shit about how much money someone comes from.
If anything I'm put off of people who were born "privileged" because I don't have much in common with them.
