I will have to agree with this. I saw a post of Saty getting very philosophical regarding IR porn, and yet here, he will not even try to explain what is generally meant by "blackness".

It's not a "battle of wits" we're having, but rather us trying to have constructive dialogue because it's enlightening and the subject matter is a very complex issue that people like me for instance, still don't understand for perhaps cultural reason. So if some folks here are intelligent, or claim to be intelligent, they can participate with argumentation and references to support their point.

I know I read and saw the sidney poitier biographies, but that was
in his time for first and second actors like denzel and eriq and more look
up to him til this day. He is still with his white wife didn't let that phase
him, he didn't break up with her or anything. Just like quincy jones is
looked up to by alot of blacks too and he been with white women since
he started out and is still dating them.

But Bottom line is I could see not wanting to put black couples
in disaster like relationships onscreen like eriq & denzel wanted, but
that doesn't mean you do it then to interracial bm & ww relationships.
How does most of denzel's interracial scenes onscreen with white women
being prostitutes or easy like in the movie "He got game" justify things.

I understand Eriq and Denzel's decisions but I doubt very seriously that a top flight black actress would turn down a prime role or "modify" it if she was asked to make love to Brad Pitt or Leonardo DiCaprio onscreen. If she knew she'd reap the accolades...the sistah does not turn it down..and no one blames her. Eriq and Denzel put themselves in a tough position because while they may win a few brownie points with BW it ultimately prevents them from perhaps reaching to that 4th dimension of acting...you create your own constraints and become pigeonholed. There are not enough positive portrayals of black love onscreen...but I also think it is strange that when BM and WW are put together, the scripts find some unnatural way to prevent them from having sex. I always view it this way...if both characters are of the same race...would the storyline likely lead to intimacy onscreen...if the answer is yes...it means the writers/directors etc. skipped second and third base and went straight to the dugout after hitting the home run.

Funny how most of those actors in Blaxploitation films (which I do like) were involved with or married white women. Richard Roundtree (who dated Wonder Woman Cathie Lee Crosby) and Fred Williamson married white women. Hell, John Shaft had sex on screen w/ white women. But I know these guys have a completely different personality than Poitier. I know that these were tough guys as opposed to Poitier portraying the dignified BM. If you watch many of Fred Williamson's films, you will notice that his love interest is usually a WW.

I think there may be a reason for this.

Many people (including BW and WM) view Roundtree and Williamson's characters as hunks/tough guys/ ladies' men. Most women probably found them to be quite enticing but the types of men they played represent the kind of man that most women would have a wild fling with and then perhaps be "friends" for time to time until they each found other people. Sidney Poitier tended to perform in roles where he was the kind of man most women actually want to SETTLE DOWN WITH. A doctor, teacher type of guy that is charming and intelligent and classy etc. is what a woman wants (generally) for the long term. And by him being tied up with WW...it may have made some folks feel that sistahs would never be able to attain a man like him but instead have to settle for the roughneck hunk that usually wins the battle for a woman's heart but always loses the war to the smoother Poitier type.

Richard Pryor dated/married white women and no said a thing. His career never suffered for it.

Some what true but that is only because that is the only way you
will make it to the top in hollywood of your a female of nay race and
that is get with a white man onscreen, just look at the top ethnic female
stars in hollywood Halle Berry, Salma Hayek, Jennifer Lopez, Penelope Cruz, Eva Mendes, Lucy Lui, Thandie Newton, Even the ethnic females in hollywood doesn't have too many or none black male onscreen love interest. White men in hollywood want and have it all that
is why hollywood is the only place that deserves that title "WHITE MAN'S
    WORLD."

But it is somewhat true because denzel and will's career did reach that 4th
dimension. But they did do it by the studio's obvious number one rule: No white onscreen love interest. If anyone remember will smith let it out that the studio that produced his film "Hitch" passed on cameron diaz because they said it will offend audiences, basically giving that lame old excuse to not pair up bm & ww interracial.

But you know that is the problem and why you will never see
a Will Smith & Charlize theron love movie
a Denzel & Julia Roberts love movie
a Jamie Foxx & Reese Witherspoon love movie
Or a mainstream interracial love flick. Do you know out of
all the period peices, we have covered black history, white history,
but not the interracial history this country's american race is built
on. And that problem is there are no powerful, tough, strong black figures
that isn't scared to say or do anything on hollywood's racism of not only
interracial but black as well. And the reason why is because the money
got to them, any threat towards their money will shut them up. And
that is what hollywood studio heads and ect. do! They threaten their money because they know that alot of these stars let the money go
to their heads and that is how they control them. Unlike in sports where
the players still let the money go to their head BUT! the sports organizations and teams don't control them, which is why they play cash cow to alot of these athletes forking out Millions and Millions of dollars to
them. If an star athlete ask a team for 2 private jets they will give it to them. Because even though the money has gone to their heads the star athletes are in control of their careers which is why they get the the contracts they want. Actors & Actresses more so blacks are not in control of their careers, they are not in control of anything, they are the studios puppets. It is like Mickey Rourke said about 15 years ago "Producers not only want to control your career, they want to control you." Now saying that didn't work for mickey afterwards, but with blacks
it is different because as we all know most of this country is not racist.
We have the race card on our side with hollywood because the racism is
so obvious there, so much evidence it's ridiculous, but not being strong
and not getting the money and letting the money get them....We are going to see what we talked about in this thread and other threads
about hollywood and it's racism until we have someone not let racism be
bigger than them. Thats the key to success over racism, to not let it
be bigger than you. A star athlete's skill level takes him/her to the top
and gets them whatever they want from a team because teams can't pass that up because they want a championship. Will Smith is that star athlete, but he doesn't know how to play the game like a star athlete does and that is use your skills to get what you want, instead he let
studio heads control his skills. See what people don't understand about
denzel's and will's views and decisions on black onscreen love is that these
racist ass studio heads saw that as a plus and not a negative, because
they know what that would lead to if interracial with them continued....Charlize theron, julia roberts, megan fox, reese witherspoon, anne hatheaway, nicole kidman, salma hayek, eva mendes, freida pinto, ect.
