WASHINGTON – Pakistan is not a failed state but its government is facing tremendous challenges and needs U.S. help to counter Taliban advances, the Obama administration's point man for the region said Tuesday. They probably aren't a failed state, but we should do what we can to prevent their nuclear arsenal from falling into extremist hands. This really isn't about Pakistan in toto, but the propensity of the region to produce violent and radical factions.
