Tony, we ain't forget about the Cavs. It's only that they're not noteworthy (so far at least) because all they do is beat opponents senseless and just chill so they're not interesting. All the focus is on the Bulls-Celtics series as well as the Heat-Hawks matchup, and for good reason. Even with KG missing, we all thought the Bulls will be one-and-done this year swiftly. Now that may happen, but even then the Bulls can go home with their heads held up high. This young team has shown a lot of promise and they can learn from Atlanta i.e. make the playoffs one year, grind it out with your opponent and build from there on out. Even if the Heat advance, i don't think they stand much of a chance against Cleveland. Cleveland is a vastly superior defensive team, they move the ball around beter and erm ..... they have Lebron James. Dwayne Wade is arguably the best in the league, but he's all alone. He has no one to defer to. He is in Lebron's position a couple of years ago. He can't carry Miami on his back for 7 games again, especially against Cleveland.
Ahhh, it feels good to get rid of those pesky Bulls. Hopefully next year, they don't draw the Celtics which will allow me to root for them (until they meet the Celtics.). On to Orlando now! Charles Barkley said the C's have no chance against Orlando, but i like their chances a lot. I think we'll come out on top. C's match up WAAAY better against Orlando than they do against Chicago. Basketball is not about records, but about matchups!
NoooooOOOOO!!!!! I know Boston was supposed to win but they damn near lost in the last 30+ seconds! I wish Chicago made better shots. Yes, they need some paint players like Baby and Perkins but damnit, they almost took Game 7. I can't stand those stinkin, dirty Celtics!! :smt091 They deserved to lose this series! :smt076
yeah, that too ....... sometimes humanity does kick in. the only reason wade didnt burn out in the 2006 Finals was because the Heat had a relatively easy time beating their opponents in the rounds.
word on the street is that mark cuban is not enjoying his stay in DENVER:smt077 ...go NUGGETS:smt026...looking forward to tuesday night's game here at the pepsi center...hometown favorite chauncey billups and team wiped the floor up with the mavericks today...nene had a fantastic game and the bench showed up to play...it would appear that without chauncey racking up the points he still is just the leader the nuggets needed to take them to the next level...
Hmm, with the exception of the Spurs/Mavs series, I was right in predicting the victors if not the number of games needed to advance. Revision: Nuggets 4-1 over Mavs WCF: Lakers 4-2 over Nuggets
Whichever teams shows up from the West had better bring some muscle in the paint. Seems like they always get beat up in there.
Wow, Boston got totally spanked (never mind the final score) and the Lakers got handled on the same day. I didn't see either scenario happening. That's why they play the game folks. Wednesday's games are going to be fun.:smt025
At this point. I'm not worried, though. LA was really rusty last night. They looked like they haven't played in 10 days. Unlike the Boston game, they didn't have their asses handed to them. Once we get our rhythm back, which should be Game 2, we will be taking it to the Rockets.
Houston won on the road...in the Staples Center...in round 2 of the playoffs. Kobe got his 30+ and it didn't matter. Yao is healthy and matches well vs Gasol. Ron Artest is a beast on offense and defense and is sooooo physical. Might be too soon to worry if you're a Laker fan, but this looks quite interesting. Should be a good series.
It's definitely a good series in terms of matchup. I wasn't suprised with the Lakers performance last night because they are the kind of team that plays 'rusty' when they've had long breaks between games. If things don't start looking better in Game 2, then I will be concerned.
So it looks like the Cavs are ready to play dispite coming off of a long break. Maybe they will sweep the Hawks? Seems possible.
They'll end up taking them down in 5 games. I'd love to see a sweep, but I still see the Cavs doin the damn thing regardless.
