Yeah, you could say I'm a bit prejudice towards black women. And my mother is a perfect example why I don't want anything to do with them. I can't handle coming home everyday hearing someone talk about race, putting black men down, and always talking about "the white man". Let's say I do something or say something by mistake, black women immediately pull the race card.
That sucks, Oxe... I also don't like it when my mom talks bad about the men of our ethnicity... Just because she had a negative experience, doesn't mean they're all bad, and it's surprising for someone of her intelligence... but goes to show that emotions cloud reason.
Same goes with my mother. She teaches a class of blacks and Hispanics. She thinks all young black men are lazy and headed down the wrong path. I can't stand old people sometimes. They're really obsessed with race.
:-( It sucks even more being that she's an educator... You would expect a degree of wisdom. When you have a son, you must show him that you believe in him so he can learn to believe in himself. Sounds like she's been really hurt by someone...
You Are a Little Prejudiced You can't help but judge people a little based on your personal biases. But you tend to be aware of your prejudices, and you fight them the best you can. Most people are more like you than they'd care to admit... but it doesn't mean you shouldn't change. Remember to take each person as an individual. It's not fair to judge someone based on their background or subculture.
Code: You Are Not Prejudiced Not only are you color blind, but you're also ethnicity blind, gender blind, and sexual orientation blind. You don't judge someone until you truly know them. And even then, you're probably reluctant to judge. You try to treat everyone equally. Everyone has a fair chance with you. Good job - there's not a prejudiced bone in your body. wow... well for myself I think that I have prejudices from time to time. But even if this is so, I always try to give the people a chance to prove me wrong. I realy have a hard time with muslims.... and gays..... but I always try to be at least neutral.
