I get what you are saying here (by the way go Sox! I was raised in New Hampshire so am a die hard Sox fan) and I can agree in general that who marries who is a private matter and the law should not prevent of age adults from marrying who they like. However as a lawyer, I always look to the legal ramifications of any social engineering, and legalizing gay marriage could in fact lead to a complete re-defining of what marriage can include. For example there are lawsuits from Polygamist groups in Canada right now arguing almost to the letter the same arguments that gay groups used to get gay marriage legalized there a few years back, i.e.; we were born this way, plural marriage has been around forever, its a civil right, its a religious practice, ect. Mark my words, there will be a legal slippery slope trying to re-define marriage to include many different forms if gay marriage is ever passed nationwide. Now depending on your own political, moral, religious beliefs, a slippery slope is either a good or bad thing.

it wouldn't say she was dumb....that's her personal opinion....she asked the question truthfully...I'm sure she knew the ramifications of what she was saying...its hard to be your own person whether you're right or wrong...some folks can deal with peer pressure others can't....she seems to get more publicity than then Miss Carolina who won the crown.

I'm with Shion, you don't have to agree with the masses. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and this chick has a serious set of ovaries for speaking such an unpopular one.

Yeah, good for her for standing by her beliefs. :smt045
The bitch in me got a laugh out of how she worded it though. Maybe she should spend less time getting gussied up and read a book instead. ;)

Why is Perez Hilton famous? And why does the media take him seriously?

Perez Hilton has a lot more reason to be famous than some pageant bigot. Which isn't saying much, but still.

Have no idea. I have that question for a lot of people, like Kim Kardashian.

There are women who have been famous for being pretty for as long as we have had the concept of people being famous.

Human beings are not naturally monogamous, so the polygamists may have grounds for protest provided that they can root their case(s) in sound legal arguments. Apart from some religious sects that marry minors who don't possess the emotional (or physical) maturity to enter into such a union, I don't have a problem with polygamy.

With regard to marriage, I think it would be advantageous for all groups to have the state cease recognition of all religious ceremonies. Have all pairings (gay, straight) be deemed civil unions by the state and let individual religious institutions decide who'll they'll marry.
