Why should ppl lose weight if they are happy with themselves?
It's stupid. And you skinny ppl talk like it was easy to lose weight. I know better, I'm sorry.

im a firm believer that everyone should be treated equally
no matter what kind of body type they have.
and that comment sounded really shallow.

    but i also agree
    if your going to bitch
about no one liking you because your plump
then try to do something about it
or your just going for the iggnorant people in the world
because no matter what someone out there will love you
for you who are and you shouldnt have to change yourself for them

No offence, but I lost 24lbs of weight after giving birth so there really isn't an excuse. Not easy but achievable.

Also, there was nothing shallow about it. I'm the outdoors type so an overweight person won't enjoy going running as they wouldn't be able to keep up- we wouldn't manage to partake in many activities together. Without sounding crude, I don't think overweight people have stamina during you-know-what either.

I treat everyone equally but when it comes to dating someone, where you have to spend lots of time together, then it just would not work out. If I want to go for a walk I need someone that's capable of doing that too and enjoying it.

What about all these fat people giving slim girls hassle? Saying we all have self-esteem issues and are not real women? It has got to work both ways.

Ahh Sarah, is this a hit back from what i saw on that lingerie thread the other day. :(

Don't do us all down Sarah, plus, I for one know i have the stamina in the bedroom and the flexibility. ;)

I know you are a little cutie, you always get love, what you have on your frame looks good, you have the right frame for it.

    i see what your saying
but i sure hope thats not directed at me.
because i mean heck yes ive got a little extra
meat on my bones. but never once have i dogged on
    a real skinny girl ever.
im just saying everyone is different and shouldnt be judged
    on that note.
on the level of physical activity.
im not a skinny girl and i am probably more active then alot of people
i danced and did gymnastics for 16 years i just stopped doing them about 2 months ago.
and i work out 4 times a week with a trainer
plus im hella crazy in bed. so saying that girls with a little more mmph lol
cant do that much in that note wouldnt be completly accurate
    maybe thats just me though.
but i havent gotten any complaints on my talents in bed.
and on my body at all.
but its just a subject i feel strongly on.

    but opinions are opinions
    i respect yours.

For the most part people fall into the following body types'

“somatotypes” and their supposed associated psychological traits can be summarised as follows:

    • Ectomorphic: characterized by long and thin muscles/limbs and low fat storage; usually referred to as slim. (Skinny model types on women)
    • Mesomorphic: characterized by large bones, solid torso, low fat levels, wide shoulders with a narrow waist. (atheletes)
    • Endomorphic: characterized by increased fat storage, a wide waist and a large bone structure. (larger people who struggle to loose weight)
Thus by design of nature (or a higher power if you are so inclined) people will come in different sizes. Eating habits and physical fitness, can improve, but what looks "fit" will vary depending on type. Some people have no interest in, time for, resources to sustain, any level of physical fitness or responsible eating habits, as a result their bodies gain weight. Some people have medical issues which prevent physical workouts, and gain weight as a result. Some people love to eat healthy and work out, and as a result they are in great shape for their body type.

As far as what body type and commitment to exercise and eating is aesthetically pleasing, well that is going to vary person to person. Why someone would give someone else grief for "their" preferences in what is attractive is beyond me.

ummm. shawt answer shawty, because its not healthy. i like alcohol and im happy with myself but that doesn't make it good for me. some people smoke cigarettes and take drugs and are happy with themselves doesn't mean its healthy. and for the record its way easier for a big person to lose weight, then it is for a skinny hard gainer like myself to gain weight, ever seen the biggest loser? if a person is obese and continually gaining weight without trying to change, i seriously doubt that they are happy with themselves in fact i'd argue that its the exact opposite. its a cop out and self denial. i've seen plenty of overweight people get in shape and carve amazing figures out of all that weight and for a few it was quick too. now they have an unprecedented confidence , they just decided to try i've seen the big girl that every body ridiculed lose wieight now all the guys worship her meanwhile i couldn't gain weight to save my life i got to workout constantly, eat constantly and take supplements just to put on weight and muscle, don't tell me about "not easy".

Ahhh now i see, so this sermon on how to lose weight comes from your insecurities not ours.

Thanks for clearing that up, ps actually it's not that easy to lose weight, it's taken me 2 years to lose 2 stone, plus healthy weight loss should be done gradually over time, as people that lose quickly, tend to put it back on quickly aswell.

For some people it's quite easy to gain weight. Simply because it's hard for you doesn't mean it's hard for everyone. Just like some people lose weight easily, and others do not. It's an individual thing, there's no set rule for how easy or hard it is to lose or gain weight, because every person is different. There's not even a single way for everyone to lose weight. Why are there so many personalized diet and exercise plans if everyone loses weight the same way?

And you know, it doesn't matter what is unhealthy. Smoking is unhealthy, and some people won't date smokers because they don't like it. But a smoker can still get a date, just not with the militant non-smoker. A militant non-drinker will not date a drinker. A fitness nut will not date someone who is obese.

It's called personal fucking preference. Spending time worrying about who everyone else dates is retarded. Just do you. Date who YOU want to date, and fuck the haters. I'm not skinny and regardless of whether or not I lose weight I'm always going to be a big girl because that's how I'm shaped. I'm tall and my ass is naturally inclined to be large because of how my bones are shaped. But the only people's opinion of how I look that matter are my own, and whoever I'm in a relationship with/someone interested in a relationship with me. A guy who spends his time in a gym is probably going to pass me up, because he's got a different preference for girls. Who cares? He's not evil because he's not interested in me, it's just what he likes. It only becomes a problem with the same fuck who doesn't like girls of my shape decides to dis me because of it.

There's too much fucking hate over size here. If you think certain people are disgusting, there's a simple cure: Don't fuck them. But for god's sakes why waste your energy decrying how horrible and ugly and inhumanly gross the people you aren't interested in fucking are? I have no interest in extremely butchy lesbians, but do I waste my time talking about how unattractive they are? No. I also don't spend my time hating on white guys, but I don't date them usually either.

Care about the health of people in general, that's fine. But don't treat people like shit because of something that is their personal shit, not yours. And what who someone else is fucking has to do with your own personal existence I'll never understand, unless the person they are fucking happens to be fucking you, too. That's the only time it has any bearing on you.

If more people spent their time trying to change the things they dislike about themselves, instead of trying to make everyone else change to suit them, the world would be a better place. Worry about yourselves, cause all this negative energy people be overflowing with really gets old, ya dig?

yeah i'm insecure.... (and the choir sang).. anyway what does your personal situation or mine for that matter have to with the fact that we all have the ability to TRY to be HEALTHY. i stated my situation to point out that neither gaining for some or losing is easy but TRY. not because i,m insecure. typical response. and what do you mean "ours" i don't even know who you are nor have i seen you? are you overweight? don't guilt trip over yourself. i'm making a generalization. i find it astonishing that people say they dont have time, or resources or interest to be healthy and that's fine. but how do they gain weight in the first place? they had the time sit around and gain the weight, obviously they had the resources to buy the food to gain the weight. the process cant be reversed?

I have notice here and other places also that they think the word fat is not nice, but they have not problem calling someone skinny

I never call someone bad names because of their weight and thats ok if you are over weight also as long you are happy but also to a stage that you are still healthy, if you put too much and you feel not well then time to do something about it ...same again goes with someone that is slim..

Thank you for saying that. I'm a beautiful red head and I'm chubby. If you can't see the way my eyes light up and the smile on my lips, but can only see me thinking I'm fat and ugly, there's the door don't let it hit you in the ass on your way out. :smt038
Too many people are hung up on what they think is perfect, let it go.
My thing is men and how they hide that they love heavier women. They're afraid to let it show, to me that's a wast of a day of being with someone special.

Sorry. Vent moment. :p But hey, it's how I feel.

this aint the tyra banks or oprah winfrey show, i never openly explained why i'm not attracted to heavier women but i will if this banter keeps up. and i don't give a fuck cause im that type of guy, take it how you want it. i've been pretty tame up till this point. now i got people saying that i am treating people like shit cause they are overweight and discriminating people , and all these insecure people having all these issues and shit, if you are so accepting of yourselves, how come the heavier girls most times on forums and sites elsewhere including this one, don't post their full pics? only face and chest shots. dont give me any "do you" bs cuz i do me anyway. i "dont do" big girls cause its as you so eloquently put it a "fucking preference" one i'm entitled to state on an open forum. now where were we? it doesnt matter about whos healthy and not healthy? wrong! it does matter bad habits spread which how we got here. i got the statistics to prove it.

    The Skinny On Fat:
    Statistics
    Overweight and Obese in Adults

    * 30.5% (60 million) of adults (age 20 and older) in the United States are obese.
    * Obese and overweight adults account for (127 million) 64.5% of the adult population in the U.S. of men.
    * 4.7% (9 million) of Americans are severely obese.
    * 67% of men are overweight. 62% of women are overweight.
    * 34% of women are obese. 27.7% of men are obese.
    * 6.3% of women are severly obese. 3.1% of men are severly obese.
    * Rates of obesity are higher for people with less education: In 2001, 27.4% of people with less than a high school education were obese as opposed to only 15.7% obesity among college graduates.
    * The highest rates of obesity in the U.S. occur in the East South Central region in the states of Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi and Tennessee at 23.05% of adults in 2000.
    * The lowest rates of obesity in the U.S. occur in New England, the states of Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, new Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont at 16.95% of adults in 2000.
    * Obesity has increased in prevalence in all regions and most states since 1991.
    * Obesity increases your risk of developing high blood pressure, diabetes (type 2), heart disease, stroke, gallbladder disease and breast, prostate and/or colon cancer.
    * A maintained loss of 10% or more of body weight can improve health.

    Obesity in Youth

    * Overweight and obesity in childhood and adolescence is measured differently. Being at or above the 85th and 95th percentile in weight correspond to a BMI of 25 and 30 respectively in adults.
    * These children are very likely to have obesity persist into adulthood.
    * It is associated with elevated blood presure in older adolescents. of children ages 6-11 are overweight and 15.3 percent are obese.
    * Approximately 30.3% of children ages 6-11 are overweight.
    * 30.4% of adolescents ages 12-19 are overweight.
    * 15.5% of the same age group are obese.
    * Children ages 10-14 who are overweight with at least one overweight or obese parent were reported to have a 79% chance of being an overweight adult.
    * More boys (32.7%) are overweight than girls (27.8%).
    * The prevalence of overweight adolescents is about the same in males and females.
    * The prevalence of obesity has more than doubled over the last 25 years among adolescents and quadrupled among children: 4.3% of boys in 1974 and 16% in 2000. 6.1% of adolescent males in 1974 and 15.5% in 2000.
    * Among youth, the highest overweight and obesity prevalence in females is found in black (non-hispanic) girls and female adolescents.
    * Among youth, the highest overweight and obesity prevalence in males is found in Mexican-American boys and male adolescents.
    * Asian-American and Hispanic-American adolescents born in the U.S. to immigrant parents are more than twice as likely to be overweight as foreign born adolescents who move to the U.S.
    * Children with moderate to severe asthma have a significantly higher prevalence of overeright.
    * Type 2 diabetes was 2-4% of child diabetes cases before 1992. This increased to 16% by 1994.
    * Type 2 diabetes is predominant among African-American and Hispanic children.
    * High blood pressure is nine times more frequent among obese children than non-obese children.
    * Excess weight in young children leads to bowing and overgrowth of leg bones. The bone and cartilage are not developed and strong enough to bear so much excess weight.
    * Overweight children are usually taller than non-overweight.
    * 7% of children with obesity experience sleep apnea. Deficits in logical thinking are common in children with obesity and sleep apnea.

I only barely read any of what you personally wrote. The punctuation mistakes make my eyes hurt.

Don't spout statistics at me. I'm not debating, I was stating my opinion just like you. Deal with it.
