Is church the way to meeting someone nice?

I'm a childfree (never want kids) man. I noticed that most people in my generation (Y) are atheist. I go to church and listen to the word, but rarely do I approach strangers. I think clubs and bars are bad places to meet an s/o.

Do people flirt with each other at church? Is it possible for someone to meet their s/o at church?

Yeah, it's possible. You can meet the person outside church. It would be inappropriate to get all sweet at church.

I though churches were meant for people to meet Jesus.....

You might want to back this up statistically.

Oxe. You can meet people anywhere. People have randomly sat next to each other on the bus and hooked up...
If you are a believer, then this will be some fundamental values that you share with a girl at church (supposedly). Knowingly having something in common with someone is at least a starting point.

You might have trouble with the no kids rule you have for yourself, though...

    EDIT:
I think it goes without saying that you have no better chance of finding someone nice at church than you do anywhere else.

You don't flirt at church during service...but maybe you go to bible study and meet a nice lady...maybe you and her are involved in prison ministries are volunteer work, etc.

A church relationship may develop slower but if you are a Christian (and are SERIOUS about your faith)...it is not the worst place to find someone.

People that aren't religious will tell you it's not a good place...obviously because they wouldn't meet someone at church..but since they don't go to church..how would they know? As far as our generation being atheists...I think we are fairly polarized...we are either highly spiritual or not spiritual at all. We tend not to believe in things we can't see...which is why so many of us "medicate" because we think we can handle everything.

There was an artice in our paper a while back about ways to meet people. One of the top ways was volunteering. I guess you would be finding a good person who was willing to give up their time to others.

Yeah. I think the word "many" might be more appropriate here than the word "most".

And yes, if you are at church for the right reasons and find a girl who is also there for the right reasons it can work.

One of the sweetest things my guy did when we were still completely "just friends" was attend church with me. He was going because he wanted to go to church. It was simply a bonus that the church he wanted to attend was the one I was already attending.

I wonder though, if he existed, if he would find it appropriate for some people to be all cupcakin' n' shit in "his house".

It really depends, if the two people are there fro the right reasons and then if they share the same views, beleifs and values
