When you ask this do you already have what you wanting them to say in your mind or do you seriously want to know what's on their mind? Sometimes I find myself asking and hoping for specific answers When you are answering do you tell the person what you think they want to hear or really what you are thinking? Just curious.
When I ask this question, it's usually because I can see the person is in a far off place, and I would really like to know what's on their mind. Sometimes I think I have an idea of what they're thinking, and I ask the question to get validation for my thoughts, but mostly, I'm curious as to what they're thinking because I don't really know the answer. As for when someone asks me that question, I will tell them what I was just thinking....I'll be diplomatic about it (if what I'm thinking isn't good), but I'll always give you the gist of it, and never make something up.
It reminds me of a man I met online who I briefly talked to, who was a bit too old for me but still in good shape. He apparently still thought he was the hottest stud to ever grace the streets of Queens. So he sent me a few full-height pictures of himself and asked me "What goes through your mind when you look at my pictures?" Umm... that you're holding up well but you really ARE too old for me? I didn't tell him that. Of course I wouldn't be honest if the answer is rude. But other than that man I don't remember being asked the question. Nobody cares what's on my mind.
when i ask someone what's on your mind...it would only be a genuine opportunity that i am giving them to tell me how they are feeling...letting them know i am open to listen...put it out there and then let's discuss... normally for me this question would come up with an intimate partner...i don't just randomly ask people what is on their mind?
I'm a weird dude, i can think about anything at any time. That question could get a scary answer from me.
Well, when I ask someone whats on there mind, it usualy means i have an inkling that i've maybe upset them and I want them to get it off there chest so I need not put up with moody silences. If someone asks me whats on my mind I usualy don't answer truthfully as the truth would be to much for anyone, I like to work things through myself without airing it to a 2nd party.
Hmm, what IS on my mind? Wouldn't you like to know.;-) "The secrets of the hidden temple, you're never to clever to get outsmarted by the next fucking fellow" - The Blac Monks (1995)
